Happiness abounds for Post Malone (real name Austin Richard Post) and his family as the singer and rapper is officially engaged to fashion stylist Christy Lee. He has trodden the path once again after his broken engagement with his ex-fiancée, Hee Sung 'Jamie' Park. Post Malone proposed to his current ladylove, Christy, during a mountain trip to Utah.

As Post Malone embarks on the new phase of life, his fans have revisited his last relationship with Jamie (who is also his baby mama) and their quiet split. Amid that, his past concerns about raising a family with her have come under focus.

Post Malone was 'terrified' of raising a family before his daughter was born

Post Malone was engaged to Hee Sung 'Jamie' Park before finding love again in Christy Lee. He also shared a kid with Jamie, which he kept under wraps for quite some time before ultimately letting it slip during a 2022 appearance on SiriusXM's The Howard Stern Show. At that time, Malone recalled a trip to the studio; he said he kissed his "baby girl" before leaving the house. The surprised host stated, "That's been on the QT [quiet] though? We didn't know you had a daughter. You keep all that quiet."

Notably, that was the first time the world learned that Post Malone was a dad to a baby girl. The singer replied that he didn't announce the news publicly because he wanted his loved ones to make their "own decisions" regarding when and how to share such updates with everyone. Besides the baby news, Malone made another revelation in the same interview, his engagement. When the host referred to his partner as his girlfriend, he corrected him by saying, "fiancée."

Thus, Malone's fans got two surprises simultaneously. He then shared that before his child was born, he was "terrified" of raising a family. He stated that it seemed like an "impending apocalypse" to him due to the cost of living in Utah and LA, among other factors. When he first learned about Jamie's pregnancy, his first concern was whether they had enough food and other necessities to raise a baby. Taking care of his family was the most important thing to him, and he stated:

"I'm terrified. There is this sense of impending apocalypse, especially here in LA, in [my] Utah [home], I'm like, 'OK, whatever you want.' I'm ready to go. I'm ready to rock. I got food. I got everything else I need. I have food for 25 years. I guess now prepping, no matter what happens, [to] take care of my family. That's the most important thing."

As it was Post Malone's first time being a dad, he didn't know what to do or what to expect. All he wanted was a safe and secure little space for his kid to grow up properly. He further mentioned that it was "a crazy world" and that he didn't know if he would do a good job of raising his daughter. Due to those concerns, he was a little scared about starting a family at first; however, with time, he became more confident and was ready to be a hands-on father. His exact words were:

"To be able to take care of people who need it, move a little bit out, have a spot where you're able to go. And I don't know exactly what's going to happen, but it's just a crazy, crazy, crazy time... It's a crazy world and it's a crazy place to raise a kid. I think any parent would agree."
