Julia Vervaro has been at the centre of nationwide scrutiny for a highly publicized 'sugar dating' scandal that led her to be placed on administrative leave from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security last week. And now, fresh scrutiny is falling on her reported ties with Donald Trump's aide, attorney Paul Ingrassia. With conflicting accounts about a past hotel incident, the controversy has now deepened between the two.

A new report by the Daily Mail claims that Julia Varvaro shared a hotel room with Paul Ingrassia during a Florida work trip last year, sparking murmurs in the internal circles. At that time, Ingrassia's co-workers accused him of manipulation, and the situation prompted an investigation. Sources also described the pair as unusually close, often meeting for dinners, spending time at her apartment, and staying together during trips.

Earlier reports claimed that Ingrassia pressured Vervaro into sharing a hotel room during the work trip. An October 2025 report by Politico claimed that the DHS officer was left with limited options after her room booking was allegedly cancelled, and she had to eventually share the room with the attorney. Vravaro said that she agreed to stay in a separate bed in the same suite, though some sources suggest she felt uncomfortable with the situation at the time.

Paul Ingrassia was 'pining after' Julia Vervaro, according to ex-lovers and fellow officials

The speculation around a possible non-professional connection between Vervaro and Ingrassia can be traced back to mid-2025, when a Florida work trip scandal raised eyebrows among inner circles. While the story didn't initially break into public view, it gained national attention months later, when complaints about Ingrassia's concerning behaviour surfaced, including the hotel room situation.

Julia and Paul's relationship caught attention yet again when two of her former boyfriends also reported on their bond. In a December 2025 interview with the Daily Mail, Vervaro's ex-boyfriend, Robert Bianchi, said Ingrassia was "madly in love with her," and she occasionally felt uneasy about him. She even allegedly talked about the hotel room situation, saying nothing inappropriate happened that night. Bianchi said:

"She said she'd spent nights with him in a hotel room before that incident in Florida, so it wasn't a big deal for her... Julia said Ingrassia was madly in love with her."

Another DHS insider had reported to the publication that the controversial Trump aide had been "pining after her." The insider told the Daily Mail that Ingrassia had strong feelings for Vervaro, hinting that he could help her get to any position she "wanted to go" in the political circle. The source added:

"Julia is beautiful, and Paul is Paul. He had a lot of power in personnel decision-making. He could help her get to where she wanted to go, and she was not the type to turn that down or shy away from it."

Julia Vervaro called Paul Ingrassia 'Big Boss Daddy' in a text exchange

After the hotel scandal, Paul Ingrassia filed a defamation lawsuit against Politico for its news article titled "Key Trump nominee accused of sexual harassment." Both he and Varvaro called the claims false and suggested a political motive. Varvaro also clarified that their bond was friendly, not inappropriate.

Court documents further reference friendly exchanges between the two, including Varvaro thanking Ingrassia for gifts and sending him a lighthearted note on official letterhead. She allegedly wrote notes like "You’re so sweet Pauly cakes, thank you," and "Have a great day Big Boss Daddy!"

The 'sugar baby' allegations against Julia Varvaro

The scrutiny around Vervaro and Ingrassia has gained fresh attention after the 29-year-old was placed on administrative leave from the DHS over alleged “sugar dating” claims. Her ex, Robert Bianchi, accused Vervaro of receiving luxury gifts, travel, and financial support, claiming he spent around USD 30,000 to USD 40,000 during their three-month relationship. Another ex, a New Jersey construction executive, made similar allegations, saying he met her on a sugar dating app in 2024 and dated her for months while she worked at FEMA. Vervao, however, has strongly denied the claims.
