Patriots QB, Drake Maye Breaks Silence On Mike Vrabel And Dianna Russini's Scandal, 'What He Does..'

Former The Athletic NFL insider and reporter, Dianna Russini and New England Patriots head coach, Mike Vrabel, have been dominating the headlines with their scandal for a long time now. The duo has been facing extreme backlash on social media for their alleged extramarital affair and for reportedly cheating on their respective partners. For the unversed, Dianna is married to Shake Shack executive, Kevin Goldschmidt, while Mike Vrabel is married to Jen. Amid this, Patriots quarterback, Drake Maye opened up about Mike and Dianna’s scandal.

Following the scandal, Dianna Russini resigned from her role at The Athletic, while Mike Vrabel is still part of his team, the New England Patriots, as the head coach. Mike missed Day 3 of the NFL Draft to seek counselling. Amid this, New England Patriots quarterback, Drake Maye backed head coach, Mike. Last season, he credited Mike for the team's success after he led them to the Super Bowl. Recently, Drake spoke to WHDH-TV 7News in Boston about the photo scandal involving Mike and Dianna. Drake shared that he and his teammates love their head coach, Mike. He was quoted as saying:

"We’re here for coach, we love coach. What he does for us, what he’s done for us this past year, you can’t speak into words. Thankful he’s our head coach. Know he’s dealing with some off the field and out of the coaching world, but we’re here for him, and I know he’s gonna come back."

A few days ago, NFL insider, Albert Breer shared his support for Mike. During an appearance on Boston's 98.5 The Sports Hub, Albert mentioned that people within the Patriots building have noticed a clear change in Mike’s demeanour after his alleged affair with Dianna made headlines. For the uninitiated, Page Six published the first set of cosy pictures featuring Mike and Dianna. Albert stated that Mike’s confidence and strong energy seemed a bit shaken due to the ongoing drama. Amid the fiasco, Albert added that Mike is a good person with the right intentions. He was quoted as saying:

"I can just tell you factually, he has not been the same the last two weeks in that building. The sense I've gotten talking to people is the bravado and everything else, I think this has taken a chunk out of that."

However, the Patriots’ fans seemed unsympathetic about Mike’s changed gesture. They are disgusted by Mike and Dianna’s scandal. Slamming Mike, a user wrote, "He may be facing a nasty divorce, that's why." Another user commented, "He lost his family because he's an idiot; there's no sympathy here." A third user penned, "We can't let people turn bro into a victim dawg."

On April 28, 2026, TMZ published a video featuring New England Patriots head coach, Mike Vrabel. In the now-viral clip, a photographer caught up with the Patriots head coach at the Salt Lake City International Airport in Utah. For those unaware, in Utah, Mike’s family has a vacation home. Over the weekend, Mike was in Utah and came back with the team on April 27, 2026.

The photographer asked Mike about the scandal involving him and Dianna Russini. He also asked Mike about his family, including his wife, Jen’s reaction to his and Dianna Russini’s alleged affair. However, Mike dodged every question. Although Mike maintained a dignified silence while walking out of the Salt Lake City International Airport, he looked a bit anxious.
