Late actress, Parveen Babi is one actress, whose life is filled with mysteries and heartbreak. She was at the top of her career when she devolved schizophrenia, a severe mental disorder. Parveen had faced tough times, and the men, she had loved in her life added to her problem. While she left for the heavenly abode in 2006, her films and the life she led often make the headlines. And everyone wants to know how she was in her real life.
Parveen Babi has been in a relationship with a few Bollywood's good-look men, and among them was Danny Denzongpa. In an interview with Filmfare, Danny talked about his relationship with Parveen at length. The couple were in love in the '70s, but they parted ways unexpectedly. Danny revealed that they were in a live-in relationship for four years and that was big news in those days. He said:
"We were two young kids and we lived together for four years. That was big news those days. We had a wonderful time, but later we grew apart and parted on a good note. We remained friends."

After her breakup with Danny Denzongpa, Parveen started seeing Kabir Bedi, and after her split with him, she fell in love with Mahesh Bhatt. During the same interview, Danny further revealed Parveen kept inviting him for dinner while he was in a relationship with a fellow actress, Kim, and the actress would barge into his home. He shared:
"Parveen would keep inviting me for dinner. I had a new girlfriend (actor Kim) those days who was wary of Parveen. Also, if your ex keeps walks into the house anytime, it would be difficult for any girl to accept. I would pick up Kim from the sets after pack up and reach home only to find Parveen in my bedroom watching a movie on the VCR. I asked Parveen not to do it. But she'd say, 'We don't have anything between us, we are friends'."
Danny further added that he had told Parveen's then-boyfriend, Mahesh to look after her as his girlfriend wasn't pleased with her behaviour. He also talked about noticing changes in Parveen's behaviour and getting to know about her illness. He revealed:
"I had been for dinner at her place. There were silver conches on the table. When I began blowing one, she got frightened. That’s when Mahesh said, 'She gets easily frightened these days and is turning into a recluse."

In the same interview, Danny shared that he got to know about Parveen's illness through Mahesh. He had asked him to keep visiting her as she cared for him and be there for her. Danny recalled the time when Parveen developed a fear that one of her alleged boyfriends, Amitabh Bachchan was trying to kill her. Danny shared the incident and said:
"One day she happened to read an interview where Amitji (Bachchan) had mentioned that I was a good friend of his. That was it. When I went to meet her the next time, she looked at me through the keyhole and refused to let me in calling me 'his agent' (Parveen's paranoid schizophrenia had resulted in her developing irrational fears vis-a-vis several celebrities including Bachchan). She was frightened of me too"
Parveen Babi's life was like a puzzle. She was at the top of her career, but she had a downfall due to her illness. Till the last days of her life, Parveen never accepted her illness, she shared that people in Bollywood and the media were trying to malign her image. Parveen was staying alone in the last days of her life.
