Actor Kabir Bedi, a very well-known name in the glamour world is one of the most prominent actors of his time. His performance in films like Khoon Bhari Maang and Main Hoon Na is still applauded. Apart from his professional life, the actor had always garnered the spotlight for his personal life. The actor got married for the fourth time to British-born Parveen Dusanj, who was 29 years younger than him, a day before his 70th birthday.
Talking about his earlier marriages, in 1969, Kabir Bedi tied the knot with a model and Odissi dancer, Protima Gupta. When his marriage hit the rocks, the actor got into a relationship with actress, Parveen Babi. However, the two parted ways soon. Kabir then got married to British-born fashion designer Susan Humphreys and that too ended in divorce. In 1990, Kabir Bedi got married for the third time to TV and radio presenter Nikki Bedi. In 2005, the couple parted ways.
In 2021, Kabir Bedi’s autobiography, Stories I Must Tell got released, in which he penned about his life and his affairs. The veteran actor also discussed about his passionate relationship with actress, Parveen Babi. In the same autobiography, Kabir also penned details about Parveen’s relationships with actor, Danny Denzongpa and filmmaker, Mahesh Bhatt. At a recent event, Kabir revealed that Danny Denzogpa and Mahesh Bhatt never objected to his book as it was true. In his words:
“They didn’t object, because what I wrote in the book is true and they know it. There is nothing to hide here.”
Parveen Babi dated Danny Denzogpa for four years. Even after their break-up, Parveen and Danny were still in touch and were good friends. The former lovers even stayed in the same Juhu colony. After they parted ways, Parveen went on to date actor Kabir Bedi and then filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt.
Parveen Babi was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia, and it only became worse, leading to her untimely death. In an interview with Pinkvilla, Kabir Bedi also talked about Parveen's funeral, which was attended by all three men (Danny Denzongpa, Mahesh Bhatt, and Kabir Bedi), whom she had loved. Talking about the same, Kabir had said:
"Parveen deserved that respect. Well, we shared her life and she shared ours. At the heart of it, we deeply cared for her though we couldn’t prevent her breakdown."
For the unversed, it was on January 23, 2005, when Parveen Babi bid adieu to the world.
