Om Puri's First Wife, Seema Kapoor Had A Miscarriage After Finding Out About His Extramarital Affair

Late veteran actor Om Puri is still hailed as one of the most renowned actors of Hindi cinema, known for his extraordinary work. However, despite being the most acclaimed artist of the film industry, his personal life was no less than a rollercoaster, especially with his first wife, Seema Kapoor, who was left with nothing but painful memories of him. 

Seema Kapoor talked about finding out about her husband's extramarital affair and losing their unborn child after it

Om Puri's first wife, Seema Kapoor, who is the sister of actor-singer, Annu Kapoor, talked about the most difficult phase of her life. Seema found out about another woman in Om Puri's life when she was pregnant with his child. In an interview with the Hindi Rush, she shared details about it. She revealed that trouble in her marriage started after Om Puri was involved with another woman. She found out about the same when she was pregnant. 

Seema revealed that after she found out about Om Puri's extramarital affair, she left for her mother's place in Rajasthan. Talking about the tough phase, Seema revealed that due to the whole scene in her personal life, she lost her unborn child. She stated that the child was extremely precious to her. As Om Puri won't come back to her, and she had decided she won't get married. She was quoted as saying:

"Unfortunately kya hua ki baccha mera nahi bach paya. Woh uss samay mere liye bahut precious tha. Kyunki Puri sahab ab laut ke aane wale nahi the. Main zindagi mein kabhi shaadi karne wali nahi thi. Toh woh baccha tha aur woh nahi hua."

Seema revealed that her brother, Annu Kapoor, wanted to take legal action against Om Puri

Seema Kapoor further revealed that she tried to cope with the immense grief in her personal life by writing letters to her child, whom she lost. She also revealed that her brother, Annu Kapoor, wanted to drag Om Puri to the court as he couldn't see her grief, but it was she who refused it. She shared:

"Saare log yeh chahte the, khaas taur se Annu bhai kyunki woh mujhe bahut pyaar karte hai. Woh mujhe dukh mein nahi dekh sakte thay. Isliye woh ladna chahte the, kanooni ladai ladna chahte the. Lekin main kisi tarah ki ladai nahi ladna chahti thi."

Seema shared that her decision to leave Om Puri and go to Rajasthan further created distance in their marriage. After this, it allowed Om Puri's relationship with Nandita to get deeper. Seema revealed that she suffered a lot of pain after losing her child, Om Puri filed for divorce, and when she received the papers, she was extremely hurt. Those were the toughest times for Seema to cope with the situation, her happily ever after dream shattered. 

Seema Kapoor revealed Om Puri apologised to her and re-entered her life

Seema Kapoor revealed that after many years, Om Puri realised his mistake. He re-entered her life and apologised to her for what he had done. She revealed that the veteran actor had called her from London before one of his surgeries and apologised to her as he had no idea whether he would survive it or not. In an earlier conversation with Siddharth Kannan, Annu Kapoor revealed that he was deeply hurt when he found out about what Om Puri did to his sister and his extramarital affair. He further revealed that it was his sister, Seema who had taken care of Om Puri during his final days.

For those who don't know, Om Puri first tied the knot with Seema Kapoor in 1991. However, the couple parted ways in less than a year. He cheated on Seema Kapoor with Nandita Kapoor. The two got married in 1993. After twenty years of living together, they had a bitter divorce in 2013.
