Before Olivia, Jack White's Ex-Wife, Karen Accused Him Of Harassment, Was Granted Restraining Order

Jack White's wife, Olivia Jean, filed for divorce in Nashville, Tennessee, on June 3, 2026 ending their three-and-a-half-year marriage. Jack and Olivia were a fan favourite couple among rock music lovers. They were seen as the ideal duo, who filled each other's missing pieces. Their split left their fans heartbroken, with many wondering what exactly led them to the decision. Notably, as per the divorce filing, she cited "inappropriate marital conduct", leading to an "unsafe" environment for cohabitation.

Olivia did not elaborate on or present any example of Jack's alleged misbehaviour. However, the comment was enough to bring back discussions regarding past allegations of harassment against Jack, levied by his second wife, Karen Elson.

What were Karen Elson's allegations against Jack White?

Model and singer, Karen Elson alleged that her ex-husband, Jack White, had a violent temper and subjected her to constant harassment by sending her intimidating emails and text messages. Karon made the explosive claims during a custody battle over their two children. As per her, the improper mails included him pressuring her regarding the financial and settlement terms of their divorce. She labelled it as "bullying wife into submission" and claimed that his behaviour was the cause of their split. As per Karen, being around Jack was unsafe for both her and her then-minor children. This point is similar to the one mentioned by Jack's third wife, Olivia Jean, in her divorce filing.

Karen Elson cited examples of Jack White's alleged improper behaviour, was granted a restraining order

Karen claimed that her ex-husband demanded that she take their children out of a specific class at their private school. She cited a bizarre reason for it: Jack White did not want their kids around the child of a "rival musician" who, in his view, had "ripped off" his music. The musician was later revealed to be Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys. Another incident recounted by Karen involved Jack being mad at her for attending a wedding and berating her for it. It also included a similar reason, i.e., him feeling that the artist whose marriage Karen attended stole his music. A part of the divorce filing included the following statement:

"Wife fears for her and the children's safety as a result of this harassment."

Sharing incidents from the wedding and the kids' school, Karen accused Jack of controlling behaviour. As per her, things always had to go according to his whims; he grew upset and sometimes violent. Besides the personal issues, the divorce filing also cited his alleged unruly behaviour towards the people Karen was associated with for some work purposes. She alleged that Jack White contacted her professional manager and legal counsel and spoke in an aggressive manner, making derogatory remarks to humiliate her. All these prompted a Tennessee judge to grant her a temporary restraining order against him.

Jack White's third marriage also ended in a divorce, with similar allegations of improper conduct against him

Jack White's wife, Olivia Jean, has filed for divorce from her husband of four years, reported TMZ. The report states that Jean has cited that he is guilty of "inappropriate marital conduct". According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Jean filed for divorce from the White Stripes singer on June 3, 2026 (ET). The estranged couple tied the knot in December 2022 and said the split date was the date of her filing. A part of the divorce filing, including the allegations of misconduct, could be read as:

"Wife would show that husband is guilty of inappropriate marital conduct, which makes further cohabitation unsafe and improper."
