Nitish Bharadwaj is a popular television actress, who is best known for playing the role of 'Lord Krishna' in BR Chopra's TV series, Mahabharat. He also worked in many popular shows and films like Vishnu Puran, Mohenjo Daro, Kedarnath and Samantar seasons 1-2. Nitish has been hitting the headlines for some time now as his personal life has hit a rough patch. He accused his ex-wife, Smita Gate, of not allowing him to meet his twin daughters, thereby causing him mental harassment.
In her latest interview with the Free Press Journal, Smita Gate opened up about her estranged husband, Nitish Bharadwaj, and made some shocking revelations. She claimed that Nitish wanted her to quit her job and asked her for a divorce when she didn't comply. However, when she refused to give him a divorce, he demanded money from her. Smita shared:
“Nitish wanted me to quit my job. When I did not agree, he asked for a divorce. And, when I got ready for divorce, he asked for money for consent divorce, which I denied. And then he started playing a victim card.”

Previously, Nitish had accused his wife of not letting him meet their daughters, Devyani and Shivaranjani. However, in the same interview, Smita claimed that her estranged husband is trying to play the victim card as the latter met his daughters recently. Elaborating more on it, she said:
“On February 13, 2024, Nitish Bharadwaj purposely avoided meeting children. And a day later, on Feb 14, he held a press conference, alleging I was not letting him meet the children, without even considering the impact on the kids. On Saturday, 17th February 2024, Nitish met his daughters at our residence in the presence of family friends as well as the police officer. The visit lasted for about 30 minutes, at the end of which the daughters were left in tears.”
Smita also revealed that Nitish never provided financial support to their daughters ever since their birth. She added that she was the one responsible for bringing up their children and looking after their expenses. Talking about the same, she added:
“Since birth, the father has provided zero financial contribution towards the expense of bringing up children. Neither he has ever paid the school fees nor provided any maintenance amount to support them, despite the legal obligation.”

Previously, in an interaction with ETimes, Nitish Bharadwaj opened up for the first time about his separation from his estranged wife, Smita Gate. The duo chose to go their separate ways after irreconcilable differences erupted in their marital bliss. Talking about the same, the actor remarked that the entire process felt more painful than death to him, which has inflicted his very core.
