From sharing lovey-dovey photos with her now-ex, Himansh Kohli to getting emotional on the sets of Indian Idol 10 and Super Dancer Chapter 3, sharing the happy and sad moments from her life on social media, confessing her depression phase post-breakup, Neha Kakkar keeps her life as an open book for her fans. In December 2018, Neha Kakkar and Himansh Kohli made their breakup Insta-official after they unfollowed each other on social media and the singer announced that she went into depression. Sometime back, Neha revealed the reason behind her breakup with Yaariyan fame, Himansh. Even though she had shared that it wasn’t an ugly breakup and it was nobody’s fault, some reports have blamed Himansh in this case.
Requesting everyone not to blame Himansh in their breakup, Neha Kakkar had shared on social media, “I read some articles online which was fake and disturbing. Yes, I said I’m hurt but I never said I got betrayed. When it comes to being loyal, he’s the best! So plz stop blaming him and putting wrong allegations. We just can’t spoil anybody’s reputation without even knowing the facts.”
After going through the rough time after her breakup, Neha Kakkar opened up to Dainik Bhaskar about the same and falling in love again. Speaking about coping up with the breakup and labelling it as the ‘worst phase of her life’, Neha Kakkar stated, “That phase of my life was very difficult. Yes, I was into depression and it was difficult for me to cope up with it. It was the worst phase; however, I have come out of it now. Right now, all I can say is that being single is the best feeling of my life. You know what, when I was in a relationship, I was not being able to give time to my family and my friends. At that time, I dedicated all my time and energy to that person who does not deserve it. I missed so many beautiful moments with my family members, especially with my siblings. And guess what; in spite of giving him so much time; he always complained of not being together.”
The Aankh Maare singer continued, “Thankfully, I have moved on from this bad relationship. I am really in a happy space now. I have realised that my family is more deserving than anybody else in my life. I am happy with whatever happened because that made me realise the importance of my family members. (smiles)” Neha also shared that she is not open to love again, “With this bad experience, I am not open to love again. As I said, I happy to be single!”
Post this interview, Neha Kakkar clarified on social media that ‘it wasn’t an ugly breakup’. Addressing the media, Neha wrote, “Dear Media, It wasn’t ugly, neither the relationship nor the breakup. Let’s not blame anyone. I guess it was nobody’s fault, maybe God didn’t want us to be together. Let’s spread positivity and happiness.” Earlier in an interview with SpotboyE, Neha refused to acknowledge her ex and said, “Which Himansh? During the episode of Super Dancer Chapter 3 that aired on February 17, 2019, Neha Kakkar came as a special guest on the show and broke down after a particularly moving performance. One of the contestants, Devika, along with her Guru, Aishwarya performed on Neha's popular song Maahi Ve, which depicted the heartbreaking love story of Devdas, Paro and Chandramukhi. The performance brought back memories of her relationship and she couldn’t hold back her tears.
Neha Kakkar said after the performance, "Life is difficult. So much has happened to me in the past. And when people judge you for that, it hurts a lot. My parents have brought me up really well and I have never damaged anybody. I cannot believe this song was sung by me, I had never imagined anyone performing so beautifully on this song. Your dance on this song was so unique. You know people don’t think, they speak anything without thinking. I’ve always thought that I’m a good human being and my parents have raised us well. There has been a lot going on with me and it feels really bad when people actually judge you, it’s really bad because I don’t feel that I haven’t done anything that I regret. I have always been a good person, a good daughter to my parents and I’ve done only good things in life." The Dilbar singer added, "I make sure that I spread happiness to the people around me because I feel that for a person, being happy is very important and I feel that if I’ve come to this world, I should share happiness. After all this, I won’t fall in love again. I’m really proud of myself because till now whatever I’ve done, I’ve done only good and will continue to do that.” Here’s the video:
