On November 18, 2018, Neha and Angad became proud and elated parents to a baby girl, Mehr Dhupia Bedi. A couple of days after Mehr was born, on November 20, newbie father Angad wrote on Twitter that ‘his girls’ are doing well, “The last two days have been very overwhelming. @NehaDhupia and I have been blessed with a beautiful baby girl. Thank you all for your wishes and love that is coming our way. Neha and Angad becoming parents on November 18 broke the internet and it was reported that around 11 am at Women's Hospital, Khar, Neha delivered her first baby. Nobody could keep calm then, and they all wanted to catch the first glimpse of Mehr. Though, later, we did get to see Mehr after her grandfather shared her first picture, the first family picture of Neha Dhupia, Angad Bedi and Mehr Dhupia Bedi is doing rounds on the internet since yesterday. Later, Neha and Angad shared the name of their little munchkin with the world and revealed that they have named their baby, Mehr Dhupia Bedi. Neha shared the following pic and captioned it as, "Mehr Dhupia Bedi says hello to the world." Hubby Angad also shared the same picture, and wrote, "Waheguru MEHR Kare @nehadhupia." Mehr is a Persian name which means ‘blessing’!
Former Indian cricketer and Angad Bedi’s father, Bishan Singh Bedi shared the full picture of Mehr and along with it, wrote a beautiful message for her granddaughter, “U Little Beauty MEHR..another Lifeline for Grandparents...Both Maternal & Paternal..Aren’t we Blessed..?!! Neha and Angad became parents and wishes didn’t stop pouring in for the two. A couple of days ago, newbie mommy Neha shared the most heartfelt moment for a mother with her fans. She revealed that her baby girl, Mehr smiled for the first time when mommy whispered in her ears- ‘Everyone says welcome to the world.’
During her pregnancy phase, when Neha was asked in an interview if she and Angad have finalised any name for their baby, she replied, “We have yet not decided what will be naming our baby. We don't know and even the gifts we are receiving has 'baby' written on them, so ya, we haven't thought about it yet.”
For the uninitiated ones, it must be mentioned here that it was on May 10, 2018 when Neha and Angad got secretly married in a Gurudwara wedding. Soon conjectures and reports started to make it to the headlines that the reason behind their surprise marriage was the fact that Neha is pregnant. Initially, Neha’s father and Angad denied the reports but later admitted to Neha’s pregnancy.
When Neha was asked about the real reason behind keeping her pregnancy a secret, she clarified, “I was worried people would stop offering work. It was a good thing my bump wasn’t showing till the sixth month because appearances matter here, and one might be assumed to be unfit for a job.
