As much exciting 2018 was owing to the numerous celebrity weddings, so much heart-breaking it was seeing some of our favourite celebrities suffering from cancer. Sonali Bendre, Rakesh Roshan, Tahira Kashyap, to name a few were the ones who battled with cancer heroically. It blew everyone’s mind when it was allegedly reported that Rishi Kapoor too is suffering from cancer. Yes, he was admitted in a New York hospital and the Kapoor and Sons actor has been there since then, but no official confirmation has been made regarding his cancer. Rishi Kapoor’s wife, Ranbir Kapoor’s mother and yesteryear’s leading actress, Neetu Kapoor had hinted on January 01, 2019 that Rishi ji might be suffering from cancer. Sharing the following picture from their birthday bash in New York in which we can spot Rishi Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, Riddhima Sahni Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, Neetu ji captioned her post as, “Happy 2019 no resolutions only wishes this year!!! Less pollution traffic!! Hope in future cancer is only a zodiac sign!!! No hatred, less poverty, loads of love, togetherness, happiness and most importantly good health.”
Neetu Kapoor took to her Instagram handle today on March 04, 2019 and has shared a photo along with Rishi Kapoor and their son, Ranbir Kapoor. Neetu Kapoor has worded her post as, “That amazing feeling in your lows when there is Positivity, Happiness, Love and that Wink.” As completely opposite as it sounds, her caption, as against her New Year’s post, surely Rishi Kapoor’s fans must be relieved now.
Rishi Kapoor’s brother, Randhir Kapoor, had recently opened up about his brother’s treatment in the US. Talking to the Hindustan Times, he had shared, “I don’t know much about it but this much I can tell you that Rishi is doing well, that’s all. Let people say whatever they want to. That he is doing is well is evident from the photo that I, too, have seen. He is having a good time with everyone and has stepped out to enjoy a good meal. He will soon be coming back to India. We are looking forward to that right now.”
It must be noted here that while talking to the Economic Times earlier, Randhir Kapoor had said that Rishi Kapoor himself didn’t know about his ailment. Randhir ji had said, “We don't know yet what is the exact nature of his ailment. Rishi himself doesn't know what he's suffering from. He has not even started undergoing tests there; how can people speculate that he has cancer and that too, one that has escalated to an advanced stage.” (You May Like: Saumya Tandon Gets Trolled For Resuming Workout After Two-Months Of Delivery)
He had further added, “Let him undergo tests peacefully; whatever the results, we will let everyone know. He only reached America two-three days ago and so far, he was being prepared for the tests that he has to undergo. Depending on what the results are, his line of treatment, medication and other modalities will be decided upon. It’s not fair to speculate things just like that.”
Randhir Kapoor recently visited Rishi Kapoor in the US along with his elder daughter, Karisma Kapoor. Neetu Singh had shared the following picture on Instagram and adorably captioned it as, “The bestest brothers ever their conversation is only food though #family #bond #forever.”
In 2018, when it was first reported that Rishi Kapoor is in the US undergoing some treatment due to an undisclosed ailment, there was a flood of reports alleging his cancer. Recently, his daughter, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni had opened up about her father’s treatment and health. She was quoted as saying, “He’s fine, nothing to worry about. I was never worried anyway. He’s just getting his routine tests done, as he said on Twitter, after so many years of wear and tear. He’s getting everything done, so hoping for the best.”
On September 29, 2018, Rishi Kapoor himself had tweeted, “I am taking a short leave of absence from work to go to America for some medical treatment. I urge my well-wishers not to worry or unnecessarily speculate. It's been 45 years 'plus' of wear and tear at the movies. With your love and good wishes, I will be back soon!” (Don't Miss: Radhika Merchant Flaunts Royalty In A Vintage Gown From Akash Ambani-Shloka Mehta's Switzerland Bash)
