"Mere liye shaadi ke baad sab badal gaya. I am starting this new journey…with your blessings Rishi ji. With you in my heart, always."

In a candid chat with Film Companion, Neetu Kapoor had recalled the toughest phase of her life when the late Rishi Kapoor had breathed his last on the hospital's bed. She had pointed out the connection between their engagement date back in 1979, with the last date when she had spoken to him. Drawing a resemblance between the two dates, Neetu had explained that on April 13, 1979, they had got engaged and on April 13, 2020, Rishi had talked to her for the last time. Neetu had further recalled her husband's last days in the hospital and had shared:

"For those two weeks, he was on the ventilator and there was no conversation and no communication. There was no interaction–well, there was, he was looking at me, and I took an iPad with the alphabet and I told him to point out what he wanted to say, but he couldn't lift his finger. It was just Ranbir and me in the hospital, and to see him go through that was so tormenting. To see a man like him… he wanted to say so much, and he couldn't express it. I couldn't see him like that."
