Neetu Kapoor On Recovering From Hubby, Rishi Kapoor's Demise, Son, Ranbir Advised Her To 'Be Busy'

One of the most iconic on-screen jodis of the 90s was Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor. The 'chocolate boy' of Bollywood, Rishi had first met the beauty queen, Neetu, on the sets of their first film together, Zehreela Insaan (1974). Soon, the soulmates had fallen for each other and had got married in a lavish wedding. After which, they had become proud parents to two adorable children, Ranbir Kapoor and Riddhima Kapoor Sahni. However, the sudden demise of late Rishi Kapoor on April 30, 2020, due to cancer had devastated the Kapoor family and the actor's massive fanbase.

Now, Neetu Kapoor has opened up about how she is coping with the void of her husband, Rishi, which can never be filled. She also revealed why her children, Ranbir and Riddhima, had advised her to 'be busy'. Referring to the late actor, Rishi Kapoor as her 'full-time job', Neetu narrated some heartwarming anecdotes of their sweet relationship.

In a candid conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Neetu Kapoor revealed that after the demise of her husband, late Rishi Kapoor, she had lost all her self-confidence and belief. Neetu further mentioned that for her comeback film, Jug Jug Jeeyo, she had to travel to Chandigarh all by herself along with the grief of losing her life partner. In her words:

"Before Jug Jugg Jeeyo my confidence level was zero, my husband had passed away and I was doing a film just on my own. I went to Chandigarh all alone, my confidence was nothing. Slowly, I've got myself here and I am building myself even today. I'd say I'm not a 100% but I am getting there."

"It is very important to have 'zindadilli', or your life ends. You have to be strong and you have to be busy, that was my whole criteria to start work. My kids told me, aap busy ho jao, you can't sit at home."

The death of a life partner could be heart-wrenching. Something similar had happened to Neetu Kapoor when she had lost the love of her life, Rishi Kapoor. She mentioned that after losing him, she was lost and did not know how to recover. Then, elaborating on her most challenging phase of life, she said:

"My husband was a full-time job. I didn't know where would my life go now. If I had not taken this step (to start work) I don't know if I'd have recovered. I was the most unsocial person, I wouldn't go anywhere, my husband, my kids, my house were my life. But after he passed away I started socialising, meeting people, I am doing a movie, a show. I am not thinking, I want to be busy. I like being happy in life, I don't like sadness. I run away from sadness. Today I am feeling much better."
