Ranbir Kapoor is the heartthrob of Bollywood, and he was once tagged as a ladies' man. The actor dated many actresses in his bachelorhood, before finally tying the knot with Alia Bhatt in April 2022. Among Ranbir's many girlfriends, Katrina Kaif tops the list, as the duo's camaraderie was too adorable. While the couple's fans were waiting for them to announce their wedding, they parted ways for the reasons best known to them.
Reportedly, Neetu Kapoor and Katrina Kaif didn’t get along very well. Back in 2015, when Ranbir was dating Katrina, he had brought her to the annual Kapoor Christmas Lunch at Shashi Kapoor’s residence. However, his mother, Neetu's absence from the same raised many eyebrows. Several media reports stated that Neetu decided to give the family lunch a miss as Ranbir had arrived with Katrina. Moreover, it was also revealed that Katrina had given her London trip a miss to meet RK’s family.

However, later in an interaction with The Times Of India, Neetu Kapoor was asked about the reason behind her absence from the Kapoor family's Christmas lunch at Shashi Kapoor's residence. Responding to the same, the actress shared that her granddaughter, Samara wanted to see Santa Claus, so they took her to a hotel. But by the time they returned, the lunch was over. In her words:
"This year, Samara wanted to see Santa Claus, so we took her to a hotel, but by the time we got done, the lunch was over at Shashi uncle’s place! We sacrificed our lunch for my granddaughter."
Neetu Kapoor reportedly disliked Katrina Kaif, and she once airbrushed the latter from a group photo, which made many headlines. Earlier, an old video of Katrina Kaif with senior journalist, Karan Thapar, at the India Today Conclave surfaced online. When the journalist asked the actress about her reaction after being cropped out of a Kapoor family photo by Neetu Kapoor, she wittily said:
“I’m not on Instagram or Twitter, so I can’t say I really know what you are talking about in that case."

In the same video, Katrina heaped praises on Ranbir Kapoor’s parents, Neetu Kapoor and late Rishi Kapoor, and called them fascinating people. Talking about Neetu, Katrina said that she admires the veteran actress for being a stunning lady and revealed that Rishi Kapoor used to take her out for dinners when they were shooting for Namaste London. She was heard saying:
“If you particularly ask me about my relationship with Ranbir’s mother as a woman and as an actress who I have interacted with, she is a beautiful, stunning lady and somebody who I have great admiration for. I think she is a fantastic person. In fact, everyone I have met from his family has been such lovely fascinating people. Not only Neetuji, but also his father Rishiji, who I worked with in Namastey London. We hit it off so well in the film. He was such a darling person. He would take me out for dinners in the evening."
