Last year, Neena Gupta had released her autobiography, Sach Kahun Toh, and ever since then, she has been basking in the success of her first book. The actress had met lyricist, Gulzar and had presented him with her book and had shared a video from the same on her IG handle. She had donned a blue-white floral co-ord set paired with white shoes and a pair of sunglasses for her outing. However, netizens had mercilessly trolled her for wearing shorts and had called her dressing sense vulgar.

In an interview with Koi Moi, Neena Gupta talked about her meeting with Gulzar Sahab and expressed her happiness after listening to him praise her book, Sach Kahun Toh. Neena also gave a befitting reply to the trolls, who had criticised her for wearing shorts and revealed that she used to play tennis with Gulzar Sahab every morning, and they both used to meet each other in tennis shorts. In her words:
“Me unse expect bhi nahi kar Rahi thi reply. Vo mujhse pyaar se mile, mene une book di, mere liye yahi bohot hai. Aur me kuch baat un bewakoof ke bacche jo mujhe likhte hai ki shorts pehenkar Gulzar Sahab se milne gayi, unko batana chahungi ki meri Gulzar sahab se mulakaat aur dosti tabhi Hui jab vo roz subha mujhe tennis khelne ke liye pick up karte the gharse. To hum dono shorts me hi milte the roz ek dusre ko."
Neena Gupta doesn't believe in mincing her words. A few weeks back, the actress had bashed trollers for judging a woman on her choice of clothes. She had taken to her IG handle and had posted a video of herself, where she was seen donning a grey-coloured dress with a plunging neckline. In the video, Neena had bashed trollers for targeting women wearing sexy clothes. She could be heard saying in Hindi:
"Mujhe ye isliye post karna hai kyunki aisa lagta hai ki jo log aise sexy type kapde pahante hain, jaise ki maine abhi pahne hai – wo aise hi hote hain, bekar ke. Lekin main bata du ki maine Sanskrit mein MPhil ki hui hai, aur bhi bahut kujh kia hua hai. To kapde dekh ke kisi ko judge nahi karna. Troll karne walo samajh lo."

Neena Gupta is a sassy lady, who time and again, has broken stereotypes, without paying heed to societal norms and expectations. From brilliantly raising her daughter, Masaba Gupta as a single mother to marrying a Delhi-based Chartered Accountant, Vivek Mehra at the age of 50, Neena has always been ahead of her times.
