Navya Naveli Nanda Talks About The Influence Of 'Working Women' In Her Family On Her Projects

The best thing you can do with 'privilege', is to helps those who're deprived of it in every manner possible. As parents, our best goes in imbibing our children with great values, so they leave an imprint on the world. Bollywood's legendary actor, Amitabh Bachchan's family, is one such big, lovely, happy family who has incorporated geat morals for and from each other. In the age of nuclear families, Big B has always kept his big family as one. We remember how in one of the episodes of Koffee With Karan, in which Abhishek Bachchan had made an appearance with his sister, Shweta Bachchan, and had revealed fun and adorable secrets of the Bachchan family. Our favourite was when Abhishek had told that there's a Whatsapp group with each family member in it. Every time someone boards a plane or lands, they have to inform that family group to let others know that they have boarded and/or landed safely. Isn't this amazing? Amitabh Bachchan' granddaughter, Nayva Naveli Nanda has recently made her IG account public and keeps posting about her startup, Aara Health and Project Naveli.

In a conversation with Vogue India, Navya talked about what drove her to launch these startups, which work to provide health care facilities to rural women. Talking about how she has always been around working women, be it her dadi, Jaya Bachchan, her mami, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan or her mother, Shweta Bachchan Nanda, Navya said, "I've grown up around working women in my family—my grandmother, my mother, my bua—it's all I've known. To bring that change, you have to start with education and financial independence." Talking about her project, she said, "I want to use the resources, people, privilege and platforms that I have to spread awareness and bring change. Studying abroad, I found the women there far more emancipated. I want women in India to feel the same way, to be given similar opportunities. I want them to be masters of their own destiny and take charge of their own lives. I've grown up around working women in my family—it's all I've known. To bring that change, you have to start with education and financial independence. That's where Project Naveli comes in."

Navya then said that she thinks that this can be achieved if people come together to make it a reality. In her words, “However, my primary goal with this initiative is to offer opportunities and resources to women that will allow for economic and social empowerment, providing them with the right tools and access to lead healthier lives, enter the workforce, be independent, and so much more.” (Also Read: Soha Ali Khan Remembers Her Pregnancy Days And How Her Husband, Kunal Kemmu Would Treat Her)

23-year-old Navya Naveli Nanda had graduated from college on May 6, 2020, and her doting mamu, Abhishek Bachchan had shared a congratulatory note for her. He had taken to his Instagram handle and had shared a picture of Navya celebrating her graduation ceremony in their garden and had written, “Congratulations my Navya on your graduation! Although due to the lockdown you were not able to celebrate it at your university with your classmates and the home garden had to suffice... Seems like yesterday that we were moving you into your dorm room as a freshman... Wait, strike that. Not "we", "I"!! (You always managed to make Mamu do the heavy lifting). God bless you! Can't wait to see what you have in store for the world.”

Navya Naveli Nanda shares the same wits and grace as her mamu, Abhishek Bachchan. And we had seen a proof of it when the star daughter had shut her troll's mouth with her befitting reply. While some people had hailed the star-kid for her thoughtful project, Aara Health, some had targeted her with mean comments. One user had written, "Seriously india??? Lol first provide access opportunity to atleast one district of Maharashtra than talk about India simply using india name." Navya had taken the comment positively and had replied, "Sure! Thank you for the positivity & support." To another person’s comment, "You first need a job, then you can do all this." Navya had retorted, "I do have a job actually" followed by a heart emoji.
