Narayana Murthy and Sudha Murthy donate gold items worth Rs. 1.50 crores to Tirupati Balaji Temple

Narayana Murthy and his wife, Sudha Murthy recently made a huge donation at the revered Tirupati Balaji Temple. On July 18, 2023, Narayana and Sudha donated a gold conch shell and a gold tortoise idol, weighing over 2kgs to the temple. Known as the bhuri donation, the two gold items come at a whopping price of over Rs. 1.50 crores. Interestingly, both the tortoise idol and the conch shell are specially designed to be used for the consecration of Swami Ammavar. For the unversed, Sudha Murthy also happens to be one of the members of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam Trust.

When Sudha Murthy recalled her first meeting with Narayana Murthy

During her previous appearance at The Kapil Sharma Show, Sudha Murthy had recalled her first meeting with her husband, Narayana Murthy. She mentioned that her friend introduced him to her and added that at first, she thought him to be a child. In her words:

Although their first meeting with one another was absolutely different than the usual expectations, however, Narayana Murthy made sure that he proposed to Sudha Murthy in the most unique manner. Known to be a man of notable words, Narayana admitted his feelings in the most simple and beautiful manner, and had said:

“I am 5’4 tall. I come from a middle-class family. I can never become rich. You are beautiful, bright, and intelligent and you will get anyone you would like. But will you still marry me?”

In one of her earlier interviews, Sudha Murthy made quite a controversial remark about her son-in-law, Rishi Sunak, who also happens to be the honourable Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. For the unversed, Rishi is married to Sudha and Narayana Murthy’s daughter, Akshata.
