Nancy Guthrie Kidnapping, Major Activity On Her Facebook, Months After Her Disappearance From Home

Savannah Guthrie's mother and author, Nancy Guthrie, is still missing despite the ongoing investigation and the reporter hiring a private detective. The whole world wants to know what might have happened to Nancy when she was abducted from her home, as per the investigator's claims. Amidst it, her recent activity on Facebook has left many surprised.

Nancy Guthrie's recent activity on Facebook sparks concern

Nancy Guthrie has been missing since February 2026, and the family is struggling to know about her whereabouts or the reason for her abduction. Amidst it, a new activity was seen on her social media account, Facebook. Her account, which showed she had 372 friends, is not visible to the public, as per reports. Also, her personal information is all set to 'restricted' with only the 'female' category accessible details. 

It seems that the privacy settings of her account have been changed by someone who has access to her account. However, it is not revealed who changed her settings. Also, it is not the first instance when Nancy FB account's settings were changed. Earlier, right after her kidnapping, her comment sections were disabled on her posts. Also, Nancy's FB account remains active, and it is not revealed that it is being managed by her family. 

Nancy Guthrie's missing case

For those who don't know, Nancy Guthrie was abducted from her home in Arizona on the night of January 31, 2026. When she didn't attend the church service the next morning, her friends reached out to Savannah Guthrie, who rushed to see what was wrong with her mother, but what followed were days that turned into weeks and months with details of Nancy. It is worth mentioning that the Pima County Sheriff's Office had not shared details about the case so far with the public. A volunteer organisation in Mexico revealed that they had received an anonymous tip that Nancy might be buried in an unmarked grave close to the U.S-Mexico border. 

Someone known kidnapped Nancy Guthrie

With the ongoing investigation, a criminal defence and civil rights attorney, John W. Day, told Hello! that he believed that the most credible theories making rounds on the internet are the ones which are not sensationalised. He added that the law enforcement has consistentatly emphasis that it is an intentional kidnapping tied to Nancy Guthrie and not just any random crime. 

John further highlighted that with the information available in the public domain, it is highly believed that the kidnapping has been executed by someone familiar with the 84-year-old Nancy and her family. He also added that the person involved in the crime knows about the property and the family's routine. He said:

"The publicly known facts; the reported surveillance footage, the apparent planning involved, and the ongoing focus on forensic evidence, suggest investigators are looking at someone who may have been familiar with Nancy Guthrie, the family, the property, or the family's routines."

John further stated that he doesn't believe in the internet-driven theories. He added that these theories grow due to the information vacuum. He further stated that only investigators know how much more than they can disclose publicly, especially in a kidnapping case where serving the integrity of evidence is important. 

For the unversed, the 84-year-old, Nancy Guthrie disappeared from her home in Catalina Foothills in Tucson, Arizona, on January 31, 2026. She had her last dinner with her elder daughter, Annie Guthrie, and her husband, who were the last people to drop her off at her home.
