The power couple of the television industry, Nakuul Mehta and Jankee Parekh Mehta are enjoying every moment of their parenthood journey to the fullest. The youngest member of the Mehta family, baby Sufi has kept everyone on their toes with his goofy and mischievous nature. On January 3, 2022, Sufi turned 11 months old, and his mommy shared how her baby courageously fought a battle with the Coronavirus.
On December 3, 2021, Sufi Mehta had turned 10-months old. His doting father, Nakuul Mehta, had taken to his Instagram handle to share a cutesy family picture featuring his wife, Jankee and their kiddo, Sufi. Alongside the picture, he had penned down a heartfelt note for his son. He had even mentioned that the picture was from the time when Sufi was only 5-months old. Tagging his wife, Jankee and son, Sufi's IG handles, Nakuul had written with a heart emoticon:
"The folks are 10 months old today and can safely vouch that every cliche they say about raising a human is true. They do grow up super fast. It possibly is the most joyous feeling in this world and diapers are the real crypto. Happy 10 months @babysufim. Also to @strangesadhu for this memory from way back in time. Ok just 5 months ago."
As Sufi turned 11 months old today, his mommy, Jankee Parekh Mehta, took to her IG handle and shared some cutesy pictures of the little munchkin in a Superman costume. Sharing the pictures, the doting mommy penned a long note and revealed how her life had been a rollercoaster ride for the past few weeks. She started her note by telling how she and her husband, Nakuul Mehta, had got COVID positive and she had to miss her sister's wedding. Jankee wrote:
"I somewhere always knew that a virus like Covid will get to most of us sooner or later, but what actually went down last week was something I did not foresee. While most of you may know that my husband tested positive 2 weeks ago, i also got the symptoms a couple days later. I thought not attending my sister’s wedding was the worse that covid could do to me, not realising that what I was about to experience in the coming week were to be the hardest days of my life, yet."
Further in the caption, the singer dropped a bomb on her fans and followers as she shared that her baby boy, Sufi was also symptomatic of the virus. Recalling those dreadful days and challenging times for her and her son, Jankee stated how Sufi had endured the pain and faced the hardships in the COVID ICU. She added:
"Sufi started developing fever a day after I tested positive & it refused to come down inspite of water sponges & medication. We rushed him in the middle of the night to the hospital when his fever crossed 104.2 & what followed were very hard days in the Covid ICU with my baby boy. My fighter went through it all. Right from being rushed to the hospital in an ambulance, to him getting pricked 3 IVS, a bunch of blood tests, RTPCR, bottles of saline, antibiotics & injections to get his body temperature down. Sometimes, I wonder how did this tiny human get so much strength to face all of it? His fever finally broke after 3 days."
Jankee thanked her nanny and the staff at the hospital for the timely treatment and for giving them the courage to sail through those difficult days. She also raised awareness about Omicron and asked the parents to guard their children against it. Concluding the note, Jankee thanked her son, Sufi, who turned 11 months old today, for inspiring them. In her words:
"Also Sufi turns 11 months, today. Thank you my superhero for inspiring us by your resilience & that goofy smile which makes every storm seem so trivial in comparison."
On November 3, 2021, as Sufi had turned nine months old, the star parents had shared another surreal picture of their ‘sunshine’. Wearing a sweater, Sufi had looked adorable, looking straight into the camera. Along with the picture, the parents had penned, how Sufi was clueless about why his parents get mushy on this date every month. The caption could be read as:
“Hi, This is Sufi again. I am 9 months old today. Can now safely say that have spent more time outside than inside and I’m kinda digging it. Not sure why my folks get all mushy this day, every month. Isn’t this just natural progression of life or are they just lovestruck.. I’m still figuring this world but wanted to quickly say, thank you for the blessings you are going to send my way… P.S - Not sure why my folks are obsessed with my old photos. I guess it would be weird if you knew that they made me wear a sweater in monsoons just cause I looked cute innnit..”
For the unversed, Nakuul and Jankee had embraced parenthood and had welcomed their bundle of joy on February 3, 2021.
