My Chemical Romance Sued By Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders' Owners, Cost Of Their Costumes Revealed

For those unaware, the parent company of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders is taking legal action against the band after they performed alongside dancers in costumes that resembled the iconic cheerleading team’s uniforms this week. However, My Chemical Romance seems unaffected by the lawsuit.
Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders sue My Chemical Romance over onstage costumes
My Chemical Romance’s recent Hollywood Bowl concert has become a topic of conversation after the band’s dancers were seen wearing the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders' outfits. As they opened their residency at the Los Angeles venue, the group modified their performance of Teenagers to include the DCC outfits. As per the legal documents, the dancers wearing the outfits had armed themselves with rifles in a staged firefight, and were soon depicted as being shot. The filing read:
“On Oct. 21, 2026, Defendants staged ‘The Black Parade,’ a theatrical concert production set in a fictional dictatorship and featuring pyrotechnics and armed conflict. As part of that production, female performers took to the stage in the DCC Uniform — and then armed themselves with rifles in a staged firefight, only to be depicted being shot.”
Pro Silver Star Ltd., which is the owner of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders brand, sprang into action by filing for a temporary restraining order and injunction against My Chemical Romance in order to stop them from using the DCC costumes onstage. Initially, they requested that the band stop infringing on the use of the DCC uniform, but they refused. Pro Silver Star wrote in their legal action:
“Audience members and online commentators understandably believed that the performers were the real Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders and said so in social media posts that continue to circulate.”
Silver Star clarified that they are not litigious and take no issue with My Chemical Romance’s music, its artistic ambitions, and the message that they seek to convey. They also stated that they do not need MCR to change their setlist, narrative, politics, or choreography. Surprisingly, Silver Star had no issues with the gun-toting performers on stage but only asked that they not wear the DCC Uniform while doing it. They said, “The universe of alternative costume designs is effectively unlimited.”
According to reports, the company is also asking the court to award monetary damages. The specific amount has not been revealed yet. Despite the legal action, My Chemical Romance’s Hollywood Bowl run is continuing without a hitch. A recent video from the concert showed the Dallas Cowboys-esque cheerleaders were back with their usual costumes.
A MCR fan took to social media to express their thoughts about the band continuing to use the DCC costumes and wrote, “Omg they had the DCC’s anyway! I am dying! I hope this doesn't blow up and become a huge story because there are some wackos in LA who are always looking for attention and political one-upmanship.” Another user wrote, “MCR don't give a fuck about cease and desist lol.”
