The famous politician, late Mulayam Singh Yadav was the founder-patron of the socialist party, Samajwadi Party, mainly based in Uttar Pradesh. Malti Devi was the first wife of Mulayam Singh Yadav, and she was born in 1943 in Uttar Pradesh's Saifai in the Etawah district. The same place where the late politician was born back on November 22, 1939. If the media reports are to be believed, Mulayam Singh Yadav and Malti Devi got married in 1957. After many years of their wedding, on July 1, 1973, the couple welcomed a baby boy into their lives and named him Akhilesh Yadav.
According to a report in Opoyi, it was in 2003 when Mulayam Singh Yadav's first wife, Malti Devi passed away. At the time of her death, she was 60 years old. Talking about the reasons why Malti Devi passed away, as per the reports, she suffered major medical complications with the birth of her son, Akhilesh Yadav. It is reported that after giving birth to Akhilesh, she opted to remain a strict vegetarian, which reportedly deteriorated her health over time.
The demise of Malti Devi affected her son, Akhilesh Yadav a lot, just like any child in the world. It is also reportedly stated that after Malti Devi passed away, her son, Akhilesh found his father, Mulayam Singh Yadav's decision to marry his ladylove, Sadhna Gupta, extremely disappointing. However, no truths or proofs are out there to support it, but oppositions and media speculated a rift between Mulayam and Akhilesh over the same.

One of the most interesting moments of the late politician, Mulayam Singh Yadav's personal life was the circumstances under which he had met his second wife, Sadhna Gupta, for the first time in his life. Actually, the politician's mother, Murti Devi was admitted to a hospital in Saifai, where she was about to get a wrong injection from a nurse due to some confusion in her prescription. If that wrong injection had been given to Murti Devi, it could've led to severe life-threatening consequences.
But just in time, it was Sadhna Gupta, who was working in the same hospital and stopped the other nurse immediately and saved Mulayam Singh Yadav's mother, Murti Devi's life. When the politician was informed about the same, he reportedly thanked Sadhna for her intelligence and spontaneity. That was the moment when the two came closer, and their instant meet-up sparked something in-between them.
If the reports are to be believed, when Sadhna Gupta met Samajwadi Party's founder, Mulayam Singh Yadav, for the first time, she was already married to a man named, Chandraprakash Gupta. However, their marriage was going through an extremely rough patch, and the two had decided to part ways. After joining the Samajwadi party, Sadhna Gupta worked as a party worker for many years, and it was in 1982 when Mulayam Singh Yadav noticed her. However, this time around, both Mulayam Singh and Sadhna were completely in awe of each other. So, despite their 20 years of the age difference, they continued their relationship without telling anyone about it. During that time, it was also reported that Sadhna and Mulayam Singh Yadav got married secretly and hadn't told anyone about it.
After a lot of advice from his close friend and general secretary of the Samajwadi Party, the late Amar Singh, Mulayam Singh Yadav couldn't announce his marriage with Sadhna Gupta. The prime reason behind it was that he wasn't sure whether his son, Akhilesh Yadav would accept it or go against him publicly. However, after the demise of his first wife, Malti Devi, the politician had announced his marriage to his second wife, Sadhna Gupta, and it left everyone in immense shock.
On October 10, 2022, Samajwadi Party's supremo and founder, Mulayam Singh Yadav had breathed his last at Gurugram's famous Medanta Hospital. As per the reports, Mulayam Singh Yadav died due to a urinary tract infection, hypertension, and breathing issues. Apart from all these physical issues, it was also reported that he wasn't keeping well since the demise of his second wife, Sadhna Gupta. For the unversed, on July 9, 2022, Mulayam Singh Yadav's second wife had passed away, and the politician couldn't bear her absence, and his deteriorating mental health played a crucial part in his untimely passing.
