Everyone knows the fact that Nita Ambani is a trained Bharatanatyam dancer. Time and again, during the cultural events of Reliance Industries, we have seen Nita giving so many breathtaking performances and proving the mettle of her dancing skills to everyone. However, not many know that it was Nita’s Bharatanatyam that impressed Dhirubhai Ambani, who saw her doing a dance routine at a cultural event and got fascinated by her skill. As per the reports, Dhirubhai Ambani got so enthralled by her performance that he decided that Nita would become his bahu.
As soon as the cultural event ended, Dhirubhai Ambani tracked down Nita’s contact number and called her. However, what happened afterwards is completely hilarious. When the business tycoon called Nita and introduced himself, she couldn’t believe it and put the phone down by saying, "I am Elizabeth Taylor". After that, Dhirubhai Ambani called her again, but she didn’t pick it up, and luckily on the third time, it was Nita’s father, Ravindrabhai Dalal, who picked up the phone and told his daughter that it was not a prank call.
After which, when Nita talked to Dhirubhai Ambani for the first time, the latter invited her to his office for a meeting. Not only this, the businessman had asked Nita whether she would be interested in meeting her elder son, Mukesh Ambani as he told her that he wished to have her as his daughter-in-law. It was indeed a special moment for Nita to receive such warm words of appreciation from a renowned and respected businessman like Dhirubhai Ambani back in that time.

Even after Dhirubhai Ambani had played the matchmaker between Mukesh Ambani and Nita Dalal, it was quite difficult for the couple to arrange meetups because of the time constraint. At that time, Mukesh was extremely busy with his work, and at times, it became quite impossible for him to cut some time from his busy schedule in order to meet Nita. Finally, however, with time and the beautiful understanding between them, they managed to go on a couple of dates, convincing them they were meant to be together.
For the unversed, Nita Dalal was a girl from an Indian middle-class household and wasn’t sure of Mukesh Ambani at the beginning of their dating phase. However, when she started spending some time with him, she realised that he was quite different from his image of being an entrepreneur. So, during their lunch or dinner dates, Nita and Mukesh used to travel by public transport instead of the latter’s luxurious Mercedes, which paved the way for the foundation of their marriage. Despite having so much wealth, Mukesh respected Nita’s family background and never flaunted his status, which made her fall in love with him.
After a series of meetings, Mukesh Ambani and Nita Dalal got married in 1985. The couple welcomed three kids, Akash Ambani, Isha Ambani and Anant Ambani.
