As Dhirubhai strived hard to become one of the top leaders, his wife, Kokilaben Ambani, stood like a pillar of strength for him. Dhirubhai Ambani and Kokilaben Ambani were the power couple, who never let their success, fame and money get on the heads of their children. The duo made sure that their simplicity and humbleness becomes their family’s identity.

There are not many pictures of Dhirubhai Ambani and Kokilaben on social media. However, one of the fan pages of the Ambani family shared a rare and unseen picture of the couple from one of their vacations. The picture was taken in the 90s when the duo went for a vacation in the mountains. In the picture, Kokilaben donned an orange-coloured floral saree, which she teamed up with a pair of black sunnies. On the other hand, Dhirubhai donned a blue jacket and black pants.
Dhirubhai Ambani and Kokilaben walked together, faced all the highs and lows of life and build an empire of their own. The simple lady from Jamnagar, Kokilaben Ambani has not only stood by the dreams of her late husband, Dhirubhai Ambani but as the matriarch, made a settlement between her sons, Mukesh Ambani and Anil Ambani post the demise of Dhirubhai Ambani.

Kokilaben has always lived a simple life and is a spiritual woman, who believes in the importance of religion in daily life. And she made sure to inculcate the same values of simplicity and spirituality in her children, Mukesh Ambani, Anil Ambani, Nina Kothari, and Deepti Salgaonkar and her daughters-in-law, Nita Ambani and Tina Ambani.
Once in an interview with the Mid-Day, Kokilaben Ambani talked about her married life with Dhirubhai. She heaped praises on her husband for encouraging her to learn English and for moulding her in such a way that she never felt out of place. Speaking about the same, she said:
“Even though I had studied in a Gujarati school, I had started learning English immediately after coming to Mumbai. This was also thanks to Dhirubhai's foresight. A tutor used to come in to teach English to the children. Dhirubhai said, Kokila why don't you learn English? I jumped at the suggestion. He would take me to five-star hotels so that I could cultivate a taste for Chinese, Mexican, Italian and Japanese cuisine. Even when we went abroad, he would fill me in with information about the places we visited and even asked me to read about them. In short, he moulded me so well, that I would not feel out of place anywhere. I constantly adapted to change."
In a world, where relationships are taken for granted, Dhirubhai Ambani and Kokilaben proved that true love surpasses everything.
