Former Indian cricketer, Mahendra Singh Dhoni and his wife, Sakshi Dhoni make for one of the most adorable couples in the cricket world. Time and again, Sakshi has proven that she is the strength of her husband, MS Dhoni, and the darling husband often credits his success to his wife. For the unversed, Dhoni tied the knot with his longtime girlfriend, Sakshi Singh Rawat, on July 4, 2010, in an intimate wedding ceremony in Dehradun, and they were blessed with their daughter, Ziva, in February 2015.
MS Dhoni's personal and professional journey has been an inspiration to millions of people, and a glimpse of the same was witnessed in his biopic. Directed by Neeraj Pandey, M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story highlights the journey of the ‘Captain Cool’ of the Indian cricket team, Mahendra Singh Dhoni. From leaving his job as a ticket collector to becoming a cricketer, Dhoni faced a fair share of struggles to achieve immense success and respect in his life. While late actor, Sushant Singh Rajput portrayed the role of 'Mahi', Kiara Advani was roped in to portray the role of his wife, Sakshi Singh.

While Sushant Singh Rajput and Kiara Advani left everyone impressed with their acting skills in the biopic, not many know that the makers had looked after every little detail about the characters before the shoot started. And one such interesting fact is that for the wedding sequence in the film, M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story, Kiara Advani's bridal look was a beautiful recreation of Sakshi Dhoni's wedding lehenga in real life. Not just this, even Sushant's wedding outfit in the film was a beautiful replica of MS Dhoni's real wedding outfit. For the unversed, Dhoni opted for a blue kurta and dark blue-hued pants paired with a heavily embroidered jacket, and he completed his look with an orange-coloured pagdi.

For the wedding, Sakshi Singh made for the perfect bride, as she opted for a traditional ensemble on her special day. She was decked up in a red-hued lehenga and paired it with a contrasting green-coloured choli. Moreover, she went for the dual dupatta trend to accentuate her bridal look. While one of her dupattas was draped neatly on her shoulder, the traditional yellow-hued dupatta was tucked on her head with perfection. Sakshi further accessorised her bridal look with heavy neckpieces, matching jhumkas, a maang teeka, nath and red bangles.

In a throwback interview with the Hindustan Times, Kiara Advani opened up about portraying the role of Sakshi Singh Dhoni and shared that she was in awe of her after she had the first telephonic conversation with the latter. Talking about the same, Kiara shared that Sakshi was so approachable and grounded that she never felt like she was talking to her for the first time. In her words:
"She was so approachable and grounded. I felt like I knew this girl from before. She was like any other young girl in her 20s, totally unfazed by all the hype that surrounds her. I wanted to connect with her, understand her, how she thought, felt and bring out those traits in my character. She was with her daughter, so honestly, my eyes just went on the baby. But I could feel an instant mirror effect, and that's when I realised why I have been chosen for this role. Also, I was not star-struck meeting MS Dhoni, but I was totally awestruck by her."
