Indian cricketer, Mahendra Singh Dhoni tied the knot with his longtime girlfriend, Sakshi Singh Rawat, on July 4, 2010, in an intimate wedding ceremony in Dehradun. MS Dhoni and Sakshi were blessed with their daughter, Ziva in February 2015, when the cricketer was away in Australia for ICC World Cup 2015. Since then, the doting parents keep on sharing adorable photos and videos of their little one on their respective social media handles, sending the netizens into a mushy meltdown.
In an interaction with Mandira Bedi for Mastercard Priceless Moments in 2019, Mahendra Singh Dhoni opened up about his parenthood journey with his daughter, Ziva and recalled the priceless moment when he held her in his arms for the first time. Speaking about the experience of becoming a father to his daughter, Ziva. Dhoni shared that when she met him for the first time, she couldn't stop giggling for full five minutes. He added:
“The first time I picked her (Ziva) up, she must have been two and a half months old, and she made a lot of noise. That was the first time she was seeing me. I don’t know whether she saw me as they say that kids who are one or two months old, can’t see. But for full 5 minutes, she was giggling and making noises, and Sakshi was like, ‘She has never done it. I don’t know why is she doing it'.”

The former Indian skipper further talked about embracing parenthood and mentioned that the feeling of becoming a parent cannot be described in words. He also revealed that from the day Ziva was born, she has always been curious and still keeps on asking questions. However, he added that when someone asks her why she loves her father, she gives a hilarious reply and says 'Papa is money'. In Dhoni's words:
"First time when you see your newborn, something happens which is very difficult to describe in words. From that till now, Ziva is 4 and a half years old, and every time she comes in, and she has a new question or answer. And the latest is, when you ask her, 'Why do you love papa?', she answers 'Papa is money'. I don't know who taught her. But she is straightforward."
During the same interaction, the cricketer was also asked to reveal the reason for choosing the name, Ziva for his baby girl. To which, Dhoni shared that he was fond of the famous American television show, NCIS, which had a female character named 'Ziva David', and he liked it because it was a short name. The loving father further mentioned that it is a Hebrew name, which means light. Talking about the same, he had said:
"It (Ziva) is a Hebrew name. Basically, it means light. We picked it from a serial. There used to be a serial named NCIS, I don’t know how many of you have watched it. There was a character named Ziva in that. I somehow always liked short names, which are not very heavy."

A few months back, we got hold of a priceless moment of MS Dhoni with his daughter, Ziva Singh Dhoni, when she was just a few days old. One of Sakshi Dhoni's fan pages shared a throwback picture of the Dhoni family as they had happily posed for the camera. In the picture, MS Dhoni could be seen holding his then-few-days-old baby girl, Ziva, in his arms as she was wrapped in a red-hued swaddle. On the other hand, Sakshi was seen holding Dhoni's arm with one hand and Ziva's burp cloth with another.
MS Dhoni is undoubtedly a super dad to his daughter, Ziva Singh Dhoni, and the father-daughter duo never fails to win our hearts!
