There were speculations for many years that Mouni Roy was madly in love with one of the popular television actors, Gaurav Chopra. But after Gaurav broke up with actress, Narayani Shastri, rumours of his affair with Mouni turned strong. The duo even participated in the reality show, Pati, Patni Aur Woh.

Gaurav and Mouni were quite serious about each other and had reportedly wanted to get married. According to SpotboyE, in 2000, Mouni candidly told the news portal, "I will marry Gaurav soon." However, things between them soured, and they eventually broke up.

What led to Mouni Roy and Gaurav Chopra’s breakup?

When Mouni and Gaurav broke up, there were many reports about the reason for it. The ex-couple even maintained some distance and avoided each other when the actress visited the Bigg Boss 10 house, where Gaurav was a contestant. There were rumours that Gaurav and Mouni parted ways because of his ex-girlfriend, Narayani Sashtri. But in an interaction with The Times of India, Gaurav denied the reports of Narayani being the reason for his breakup with Mouni and shared that his ex-girlfriend, Narayani, had no role to play in his breakup.

On the other hand, Narayani Shahstri revealed the reason behind Gaurav and Mouni’s breakup. In an interaction with Spotboye, Narayani stated:

“They were not meant to be together. The two had drastically different temperaments. Mouni is a very sweet girl. But dekha jaye toh it eventually didn't work out between Gaurav and me too na? But yeah, Mouni and Gaurav ended it differently. I want to be friends with Gaurav, but maybe Mouni doesn't think that way. But it's ok na? Different people think differently."

Mouni Roy’s affair with Mohit Raina

After Mouni Roy’s breakup with Gaurav Chopra, the actress reportedly dated her co-star from Devon Ke Dev Mahadev, Mohit Raina. But as both actors like to keep their personal lives out of the media glare, no one has ever had any proof of their love for each other. Mouni, in an interview with Mumbai Mirror, had dismissed the rumours and had stated that she is not even friends with Mohit.

Mouni Roy’s marriage to Suraj Nambiar and rumours of their divorce

It was during the pandemic, when rumours of Mouni’s affair with Dubai-based businessman, Suraj Nambiar surfaced on social media. However, the two had never shared or addressed their relationship rumours in the media, but had proved their doubters wrong after tying the knot on January 27, 2022. The duo tied the knot as per Malayali and Bengali rituals. 

Recently, rumours of Mouni and Suraj’s divorce began to surface when social media users noticed that Mouni’s social media handle had no recent posts from her husband, Suraj Nambiar. Soon, people also pointed out that the duo had even unfollowed each other, sparking speculation that all was not well in Mouni and Suraj’s paradise.
