A simple, non-industry girl gets married to the most eligible bachelor of B-town. Dreamy, no? Such is the fairy tale love story of Shahid Kapoor’s Delhi-based ‘girl from another world’, Mira Rajput. But with as much love Mira was welcomed in the industry, she also became a target of unnecessary negative attention by trolls. At an event held to mark International Women's Day, Mira Rajput Kapoor’s statement about being a homemaker and not choosing to work as she didn’t want to leave behind her daughter, Misha Kapoor at home created a storm in the media. Mira’s “I can raise my daughter, be a good wife, and set up my home the way I like. I wouldn’t have it any other way. I wouldn’t want to spend one hour a day with my child and then rush off to work. Why did I have her then? She is not a puppy. I want to be there for her as a mother. Seeing her grow up cannot be quantified" statement got her into a lot of trouble and even till today, she gets trolled for the same.
Mira Rajput Kapoor had clarified, time and again that she had chosen to be a stay-at-home mother and wants to give as much time as possible to her kids. Shahid Kapoor too, supports his wife’s decisions and how Mira has been a pillar of strength for him in his professional and personal fronts, he also reciprocates in every manner he can. A while back, Mira was snapped by the shutterbugs at a shoot, in a high-slit black dress. But became a subject of trolls for the netizens as they don’t think she has done anything to deserve such opportunities.
Some of the comments could be read as “Bebo ko takkar dene k liye kya kya kar rahi hai bechari bacchi”, “Star wife star overnight”, “Leaving her puppies behind?”, “Thats the main reason shaadi shahid.aim pura hua”, “Bt Who is she?”, “Yeh kyun shoot karti hai”, “For what?? While Shahid Kapoor is riding high on the pillion of professional success, everyone has always wanted to know about Mira Rajput Kapoor’s career plans. Speaking of the same, Mira had shared in an interview with a media portal, “Yes, I would love to work, especially in a field that is creatively stimulating, but also allows me time with family. Perhaps something with food or lifestyle. I do not have a deadline as I am going to have another baby and then decide.” Her hubby, Shahid is also extensively supportive of Mira in whatever decision she makes. In an interview with the GQ Magazine, Shahid had stated, “Mira, who is just 22, would prefer to have a second kid soon as well. She wants to flip the norm, get the kids to a certain age and then be free to do what she likes.” And so, she did!
In an interview with Times Now, when Mira Rajput Kapoor was asked about being trolled on social media, she had retorted, “The internet is one platform that is accessible to everyone. People can say what they feel and it gives everyone the right to express themselves the way they want and to what extent they feel like. So, there will be opinions. It's not that everyone is going to love you. I have always spoken for myself and I have never shied away from expressing what I truly feel.”
Mira Rajput Kapoor had continued, “It’s not something new for me. Nowadays, people receive backlash for whatever they do or say. It is the way the internet is. At some level, it is a bit sad.” Mira further shared nervousness while shooting for the ad, and said, “I won't lie, I was very nervous because doing an ad was completely out of my comfort zone. But I think what put me at ease was the nature of the ad, which was very conversational with real experiences. It was something I have already been through. I felt that I was just talking about something that I have gone through myself and from my own point of view. The natural synergy put me at ease.” (Also Read: Mira Rajput Kapoor Reuniting With Rajput Sisters For U2 Concert Will Remind You Of Your Girl Squad)
