Well, looks like the happy moment is finally about to arrive in the lives of the Kapoor clan! Right from soon-to-be grandparents Pankaj Kapur, Neelima Azeem, Supriya Pathak to the elated-second-time-parents-to-be, Mira Rajput Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor, everyone is eagerly waiting for the little munchkin to arrive soon. After announcing the pregnancy on social media with a picture of their first born, Misha Kapoor, Shahid and Mira have time and again shared their excitement. With Mira’s pregnancy glow and huge baby bump, we can now say that that the baby can arrive anytime soon. Yes, you read that right! A friend close to the couple revealed to BollywoodLife that Mira is due this week and the couple is all set to embrace parenthood once again. The source also said, “Shahid is spending all the time with Mira. If he has to step out it is either for gym or office but otherwise he is constantly by her side.”
Talking about his paternity leaves to media portal, Mid-Day, Shahid Kapoor was quoted as saying, "During Misha's birth [in 2016], I took a couple of months off. This time too, I was negotiating to take a month-long break, but things didn't work out. I will get only a week off from work. It is too short a duration, but such are the circumstances." He further said, "I am self-employed, so I think I have more freedom [to take leaves as per my convenience]. If I don't want to work for a certain period, I can do that. Having said that, life is all about finding the right balance."
After announcing that Mira is pregnant, Shahid confirmed the news to the media as well and also shared his excitement of becoming a dad again. The Batti Gul Meter Chalu actor shared, "Of course! Having a child is the most amazing feeling. And we are fortunate that we are having a second one so soon, so [I am] feel happy and blessed about that. Family is always a big reason to work even harder. When you come back home to your family [after work], it’s a great feeling." He further continued about the responsibility being doubled, "I don’t think so. It’s just that you have to do whatever is required [as parents]. In fact, I am nervous because I have Batti Gul’s release coming up in September and the baby is due around the same time. That’s why I have to dedicate my time correctly to both the things and hopefully I will be able to manage it well."
In a recent interview, he also talked about his baby girl, Misha and said, “Misha is a lovely little kid. Though she is just two years old, she has the understanding of a four-year-old. She doesn’t throw any tantrums, especially when I am looking after her. I think Misha has a great sense of dance, we started dancing together when she just started standing up!” Shahid also believes that fatherhood has had a defining impact on his life. He remarked, “As soon as I became a father, the deconstruction of my life began. When I was single, I was so different. When I got married, I had to become sharif (respectable). In a recent interview with Times Now, Mira shared who will decide the name of their second baby, “We haven't decided the name of the baby yet. In fact, we are open to all suggestions. Misha’s name was Shahid's selection. So, this time, I might get to select the name”. She went on to say, “This time I already have a toddler around and keeping a balance between the one you have and the one that's on its way is very important. Everything changes and you don't want that the one who has been the apple of your eyes for so long and feels that she's the centre of your world to feel neglected and ignored. That is very important.”
