The Hollywood actor, who is widely loved for his appearance in the iconic show, Game Of Thrones, Michael Patrick tragically passed away at the age of 35. His death was confirmed on April 8, 2026. He lost his life after a long battle with Motor Neurone Disease. For the unversed, he was diagnosed with the same in 2023. In his personal life, the much-loved actor was married to Naomi Sheehan, who penned a heartfelt tribute for her late husband. Michael Patrick shared his health update in his last Instagram post

Michael Patrick's tragic death has left a major void in the film industry. Fans are heartbroken with the news. Amid that, did you know that the GOT actor shared an update about his health in his last Instagram post. Well, his last post was shared on February 6, 2026. He shared a photo, probably from the hospital, in which the actor was on a wheelchair and had a child sitting on his lap. The photo sparked concern as Michael was seen with a black tube in his mouth, that appeared to be something like a breathing support tube.

Along with it, he penned a long and heartfelt caption, revealing that he has been in the hospital since the past few days with his wife and they were speaking to the doctors and getting his tests done. He also revealed that after multiple discussions, he has decided not to go ahead with the tracheostomy. A part of his note can be read as:

"3 years of having mnd. Still shite craic. Health update: Basically me and @nomsheehan were in hospital for over a week there - speaking to doctors and getting tests done etc. Talking about risks and implications of getting the trache put in. What day to day life would be like after the operation. In short I'm not going ahead with the tracheostomy."

Michael Patrick continued by revealing that he had also spoken to his neurologist, who revealed that the actor has nearly a year left to live. The actor explained that even though it is not certain, he does not want to spend his last year on the hospital bed. He concluded the note by thanking his fans for their donations on the GoFundMe Page. His note can be read as:

"Also, my neurologist gave us the news that I likely have about 1 year left (obviously he can't say for definite and we still have hope for the drug trial to buy some more time too). So I don't want to risk a significant amount of that time being in a hospital bed. Thanks so much for all the donations to the GoFundMe, even though I didn't go ahead with the trachesotomy - it will still go towards providing me with specialist care as I enter the final stages of life. I'm still overwhelmed by all your generosity. Anyway - still lots to live for and lots planned - here's my wee godson Micheal visiting me in hospital."

Michael Patrick’s wife penned a heartfelt note for the late actor

On April 8, 2026, after Michael Patrick passed away, his wife, Naomi took to the actor’s Instagram handle to share a heartbreaking note, confirming his passing. Talking about Michael, apart from GOT, the actor had also appeared in This Town, Blue Lights and more. In the IG note, his wife shared that the actor passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and friends. A part of her note can be read as:

"Last night, Mick sadly passed away in the Northern Ireland Hospice. He was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease 1st February 2023. He was admitted 10 days ago and was cared for by the incredible team there. He passed peacefully surrounded by family and friends. Words can’t describe how broken-hearted we are."
