While the film is yet to release, it is already generating a lot of buzz on social media. Amid that, Meryl Streep recently revealed that she had almost denied being a part of this franchise in 2006.
Recently, the much respected and celebrated actress, Meryl Streep sat down for a candid conversation with Deadline, during which she opened up about almost rejecting the movie, The Devil Wears Prada in 2006. However, she eventually agreed when the makers of the blockbuster movie agreed to pay her a high paycheque. Meryl Streep was quoted as saying:
"I read the script. Script was great. And they called me up and they made an offer, and I said, 'No, not going to do it.' I knew it was going to be a hit, and I wanted to see if I doubled my ask. And they went right away and said sure. And I thought, I'm 50, 60, it took me this long to understand that I could do that. They needed me, I felt. ... I was ready to retire. But, you know, that was a lesson."

Recently, the cast of The Devil Wears Prada 2, including Meryl Streep had a chat with New York Times, during which they spoke about the upcoming film, which is set to hit the silver screens on May 1, 2026. Later, when Meryl Streep was asked about what she likes the most about her role as ‘Miranda’, the actress explained:
"I liked the ability to — in drama school, they would say to us, do you know how to convey that you’re the king or queen? And everybody would say, well, you project power. And it helps to have lifts in your shoes, things like that. And the teacher said, no, no, the way you convey power is how everyone else in the room behaves when you enter it. You just act naturally, but the molecules around you change. So that was the direction, that everybody was afraid of me. I didn’t have to raise my voice or do anything."

The early reviews of the much-awaited sequel, The Devil Wears Prada 2 are here. For the unversed, netizens seem to be very impressed by the movie. One user on X (formerly Twitter) commented, "I seriously love everything about Miranda and Andy! The Devil Wears Prada 2 was filmed so perfectly. Honestly, it was worth waiting 20 years for this. I’m forever obsessed with how Miranda is mean yet stays so idealistic and realistic at the same time."

Another user shared, "Not a classic like the first, but the cast is so good that it’s still fun." A third fan wrote, "Gird your loins, the devil is back in all her glory! Yes, #thedevilwearsprada2 is phenomenal. It is the perfect sequel that exceeded all expectations. Aline Brosh McKenna’s script is sharp and witty. We’ll be quoting this for years to come. Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt are still great. Stunning costumes, and that soundtrack slaps hard. GAGA!!!!!!! Loved it. Worth the wait. That’s all."
