One of the toughest moments that came in Yoane Wissa's life, as well as his relationship with Kahina, was when he faced a horrifying acid attack. The incident happened in 2021 and nearly ended Yoane's football career. He had to go through several months of treatment and rehabilitation, throughout which his wife, Kahina, remained by his side. She made sure to help him through his eye surgery, mental recovery, and the anxiety that he was plagued with when he had to return to football. 

For those unaware, the DR Congo player has himself been pretty open about how much his wife, Kahina and his entire family helped him during that phase. At a time when his future in professional football was uncertain, Kahina not only gave him emotional strength but also helped him focus more on his game.

If reports are believed to be true, Yoane Wissa and his wife, Kahina, live in West London. There, they have already started a family of their own. In 2023, the couple welcomed their first child, a daughter, beginning a beautiful new chapter in their lives. While there is no doubt that playing in the Premier League and now playing in the FIFA World Cup demands the utmost attention from Yoane Wissa, it is said that he is a very devoted father who does not neglect his responsibilities at home. On the other hand, Kahina continues to lead a private life while occasionally attending home fixtures.

Yoane Wissa is hogging the spotlight after becoming the first-ever goal scorer for DR Congo at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. His history-making goal came during DR Congo's match against Portugal on June 17, 2026 (ET). He pulled off the goal just five minutes into the first half stoppage time at Houston's NRG Stadium, drawing the scoreboard to a 1-1 with Portugal. 

In the Premier League, Yoane Wissa plays for Newcastle United, where he scored just one goal in the 19 appearances that he made last season. It was disappointing to say the least. During his time at Brentford, however, he had scored 49 goals and set up 13 more in 149 appearances.
