Meet Nate Bargatze's Daughter, Harper, As 'Not Political' Comedian Gets Spotted At Trump's UFC Fight

Nate Bargatze was recently spotted at the UFC Fight over the weekend. However, while on any other day it would have just been a normal picture, it has recently been making headlines after Cheryl Hines, the wife of Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr., shared the picture from the event. What further made the picture stand out was that it appeared to have been taken inside the White House.

Why does it matter? Because in the past, Nate has always portrayed himself as someone who stays away from politics, making his picture at Trump's UFC fight stand out even more. However, as the picture goes viral, his rep has issued a clarification in defence. Nonetheless, it has also brought attention to his personal life, including his bond with his daughter, Harper.

For someone who presents himself as a politics-free comedian, Nate has been making a big splash with his recent pictures. The comedian was spotted with Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s wife inside what appeared to be the White House, given that Vice President, J.D. Vance is seen in the background, just behind Nick. Now, in a conversation with HuffPost, the comedian's representative has issued a clarification saying that Nick has "fans from both sides of the aisle". He added:

"Nate is family-friendly entertainment first. He is not political, nor is anything he produces. He is also a huge UFC fan and has been since before it became political.  He doesn't turn down photo requests. For example, there's a photo of him and Don Lemon somewhere. He went last night to enjoy a sport he loves.

As the buzz around Nick's recent appearance grew, so did the netizens' intrigue in his personal life, including his bond with his daughter, Harper. The comedian welcomed his daughter with his wife, Laura, on July 8, 2012, and is extremely considerate of her wishes when crafting his set around her. He has often talked about the same, explaining that at the end of the day, having his little girl feel comfortable and safe enough to talk to him is his ultimate priority.

While Harper has appeared in her dad, Nate's, comedy special, she lives a very private life with her mom, Laura. Harper became a well-known face among fans when she introduced her dad, saying, "Please welcome my daddy, Nate Bargatze!" Over the years, Nate has included some jokes about Harper, referencing the difficulty of her homework and not knowing which school bus she rode on. However, he keeps them light-hearted as he believes "she's at the age where kids are going to pick on her or say something."

Despite Nate's fame, he and Laura made Tennessee their home base, allowing Harper a relatively normal childhood. The comedian reflected on his decision to do so in an interview with WSMV 4 Nashville in February 2025, and revealed that he is "very close" with his neighbours, which was one of the reasons he wanted to move back to his home state, Tennessee. He added:

"A big part of me wanting to come back was for her to at least have somewhat of a normal existence. Her friends are just friends; they're friends that I would've grown up with. Nashville, I think, provides that, and it [gives] her some sanity, at least for her dad doing this kind of crazy nonsense."

Nate and Laura Bargatze decided to have only one child to ensure their bond with Harper

Nate and Harper share a close bond despite the comedian's busy schedule. However, he claims it is because of his and Laura's decision to have only one child. During an episode of The Nateland Podcast in November 2020, the comedian opened up about how his daughter "does very well" when he travels away, but it can "get hard" if he's spent more time at home before leaving. He further stated:

"Having one kid, the great thing is with that, with how crazy my life and our lives are, is I have a relationship with her that I would have had to split up between two kids," he said. "When I'm home, my time is to her, and her mom's time is to her, and so she gets our complete focus."
