Ryan was informed of his contract termination on July 20, 2026 while he was appearing on a live broadcast of NFL Live. Yonka Clark, the better half of NFL analyst Ryan Clark, is a private individual who stays away from the media spotlight. Born in August 1980, she will turn 46 years old in 2026, which makes her the same age as her husband. Yonka grew up in the small town of Ama, Louisiana and built a career in the legal field. She reportedly works as a Louisiana civil law notary, credit agent, and financial literacy advocate.
Yonka maintains a private life despite her husband Ryan being a public figure. She even reportedly has a private social media account. As for the couple's personal life, they first met in 1997, at an Archbishop Shaw High School graduation picnic through Yonka's cousin. However, they didn't immediately feel connected or start dating. Notably, the duo didn't have a great first impression of each other, as their first interaction was rocky.
Yonka initially found Ryan "arrogant," while he thought she was "the snootiest, meanest" woman he ever met. They didn't even keep in touch after that. After graduating from school and fatefully attending the same college, Louisiana State University (LSU), they reconnected, and this time, their feelings had changed toward each other. He was one year his senior at LSU, and during their time at the institute, they finally started dating.
After being in a relationship for several years, Ryan and Yonka got married in 2004. Before getting hitched, they became parents. They were raising daughter Jaden Triche Clark, who was born January 26, 1999 from Ryan's previous relationship. Ryan Clark was 19 years old when she was born. He and Yonka welcomed their first biological child, Jordan Michael Clark, in early 2001.
Jordan has followed in his father's footsteps and is signed with the NFL team, the New York Jets. Ryan and Yonka's second child, Loghan Clark was born around 2004 or 2005 and is reportedly interested in the culinary arts. As for Yonka Clark's stepdaughter, Jaden, she reportedly graduated with a Master's degree in Professional Counseling.
What makes Yonka Clark different from the other NFL WAGs?
Years after Ryan and Yonka's wedding, in a 2016 interview with The Sport Sorority, she revealed that she cared more about "the ring" than the "commitment." Yonka Clark is far from being a traditional 'NFL WAG', as she herself shared in the interview that she doesn't want labels like that. As per her, she was connected to her spouse, but not his profession.
Yonka further stated that even though she was supportive of Ryan's career, she wasn't too attached to the NFL, which made it easier for her to cope with his retirement. As per her, her entire focus lies in their personal life, including being a good wife and mom to their three children. Regarding that, the strong, independent woman mentioned:
"I did not like the title 'NFL wife' because I was not married to the NFL; I am married to Ryan. The NFL wasn't my identity, and it wasn't what made me me. Having that mentality helped when it came to retirement as well because there wasn't this attachment to the league. I just wanted to be a good wife and mother."
