Kevin De Bruyne and Michele Lacroix’s love story started three years before they tied the knot in 2014. Notably, Kevin did not have a lot of followers on his X (formerly Twitter) profile, and he once posted a tweet about a match. Michele reacted to the tweet, which was witnessed by one of his friends. Kevin’s friend told him that the girl looks nice and he should send her a message.
However, Kevin initially hesitated to message Michele, and his friend eventually sent a text on his behalf. Michele responded, and the pair started getting close to each other over the next few months. Kevin recalled the experience by saying:
“It’s a lot easier for me once I get to know someone, so after that, I was good. It really was a beautiful thing.”
Around two years after their first meeting on social media, Kevin and Michele got engaged in 2016 after the former popped the question at the Eiffel Tower.
