Meet Justine Lupe's Husband, Tyson Mason, Former Actor, Worked In 'Warren The Ape's' Art Department

Justine Lupe is one of the most beloved American actresses and producers in Hollywood right now. With a background in theatre, she began acting in earnest after graduating from the Juilliard School in New York City in 2011. Some of her early film roles include Not Fade Away (2012), Frances Ha (2013), and A Midsummer Night's Dream (2017), among others. She also made a name for herself on the small screen, having worked in hit shows like The Good Wife (2015), Younger (2016), and Madam Secretary (2016-2018). What shot her to fame was her role as ‘Willa Ferreyra’ in the HBO drama series, Succession. 

Coming to the actress's more recent works, Justine Lupe was last seen playing ‘Morgan Williams' in the romantic comedy series, Nobody Wants This. While many expected that she would receive a nomination for the same in the 2026 Golden Globes, she surprisingly did not. Despite this, she became the talk of the town after appearing in a sheer Armani dress to support the rest of her series’ cast during the event. After becoming one of the most daring looks on the red carpet, many fans started to wonder about the man currently married to the gorgeous woman. Most people might not be aware, but similar to his wife, Justine Lupe, Tyson also has an extensive background in the television and film industry. He has worked behind the scenes as a member of the art department on several projects, such as the 2011 horror/sci-fi flick, Detention and MTV's Warren the Ape. For his on-camera work, he has appeared in several short films. To mention, compared to Justine, Tyson prefers to stay out of the spotlight. His social media presence is kept at a minimum; however, he does occasionally post on Instagram, which gives us a glimpse into his artistic practice. Some of the pictures which appear on his grid include detailed drawings of people and bodies.  

Last year, Tyson Mason's artwork was featured alongside several other artists in an exhibition titled The Art Collective, held in Chinatown, Los Angeles. Justine Lupe shared a number of photos from the launch party of the September 2025 exhibition to gush about her husband's work. She captioned the IG post, “Wooohoo! He had an art show! Thank you to everyone who made it out. I love you [Tyson Mason] you kilt it baby.”

Tyson Mason tied the knot with Succession actress last year, on February 18, 2025. According to reports, instead of opting for a grand wedding, the couple kept it low-key and wed in a Beverly Hills, California, courthouse. This information was later confirmed by Justine Lupe's representative at the time. For their big day, Justine wore an ivory, satin long slip dress. On the other hand, her husband, Tyson, kept things classy by donning a traditional black suit. It is worth mentioning that the couple's baby daughter, Ellis, was also in attendance at their wedding. Their little bundle of joy looked super adorable dressed in a frilly white frock to match her mum for the occasion.  

A few weeks after Tyson and Justine's wedding, the actress took to her Instagram to share a glimpse of her wedding day with her followers. Among the collage of photos that she shared, Justine included one of her and Tyson kissing outside of the courthouse. She hilariously captioned the post, “Allow me to introduce you to my ding da*n HUSBAND!” Well, Tyson was quick to reciprocate her sentiment, posting a picture on his own account with the caption, “My ding da*n wife a child.”

Tyson Mason is raising a daughter named Ellis with his actress wife, Justine Lupe. She was born to the couple in August 2024, a year before the duo tied the knot. This allowed her to be present for her parents' wedding ceremony. It was in February 2024 that Justine revealed her pregnancy publicly while walking the red carpet at the SAG Awards. She hilariously credited Tyson for her baby bump when she posted pictures from the event on her IG. Tagging her husband, she captioned the post, “Guy in second photo made first photo possible.”  

During a November 2024 appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show, Justine revealed that Tyson was the one who chose their daughter's name. She said that he “loved” the name Ellis because “it means kind and benevolent.” Apparently, the couple really wanted to put that energy around the baby and wanted her to “be kind above all else.”

An interesting fact about Justine Lupe's husband, Tyson Mason, is that he has a tattoo dedicated to their daughter, Ellis. On an episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, Justine revealed that Tyson got the name ‘Ellis’ inked on his finger just before they welcomed her in 2024. She said: 

“After we decided that the name is Ellis, he went out and got it tattooed onto his finger. So we’re like, ‘Okay, so the name is definitely Ellis.’”
