Mark Ruffalo's wife, Sunrise Coigney, was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. Although she was born there, she has lived in several different states since then. According to reports, Sunrise spent a lot of her time in her youth travelling around the world. When it came to spending time with her now-husband, Mark, in Los Angeles and later fell in love with upstate New York. As per People, Sunrise and her family currently live in Callicoon, a community-oriented town which is known as a quaint escape that is surrounded by greenery. During a casual conversation with Women's Wear Daily, she revealed that the place “ticked all the boxes” for her. She also talked about how “if you want to get there, you have to really want to get there.” This is because there's a lack of transportation, like trains and people there lead a more primal lifestyle, which she finds enjoyable.

For the unversed, Mark Ruffalo and Sunrise Coigney got married in June 2000. Since tying the knot, the star couple have welcomed three children together. One year after their marriage, the duo celebrated the birth of their first child, Keen, in June 2001. It is worth noting that Keen is Mark and Sunrise's only son. Four years after he was born, in May 2005, the couple had their second child and first daughter, Bella Noche. After becoming pregnant for the third time, Mark and Sunrise welcomed their second daughter, Odette, in October 2007. Once her children were born, Sunrise famously put her growing acting career on hold to raise them. Talking about the same with WWD, she said:

Although Sunrise's children with Mark are now older, she hasn't returned to acting. Instead, she returned to her passions and pursued a creative career path that most people would not have expected at first. Interestingly, the mom of three runs a retail shop called Sunny's Pop in Narrowsburg, New York. What makes her shop special is that it carries several ‘hand-picked treasures', according to People. In June 2023, when the couple celebrated their 23rd wedding anniversary, Mark took to his official Instagram account to pen a loving tribute for Sunrise. Captioning a black-and-white photo from their wedding, he wrote:  

“Happy 23 years, my friend, my partner, my lover. Everything beautiful in our lives comes from you. You also happen to keep this whole shambling enterprise on the rails. I admire you and love you.”
