Matt Brown's Brother Addresses Reports Of Family Estrangement, Says, 'Everybody Cared About Him'

Matt Brown’s brother, Bear, recently claimed through a TikTok video on May 28, 2026 (ET), that Matt may not be alive. Netizens were concerned after Bear said that the police are currently searching for Matt’s dead body after he allegedly killed himself. However, Bear also stated that he cannot confirm anything since Matt was spotted in a river and he was floating down.

Matt Brown’s brother said that he was involved in a lot of bad activities

A day after Bear Brown’s TikTok video went viral, he shared another clip on the same platform on May 29, 2026 (ET). He responded to reports that the family was not supporting Matt Brown, saying they were all false. Bear clarified that the family did everything they could to ensure that Matt could enter a rehab because everyone cared for him. He further stated:

“Matt has done a lot of bad things, a lot of bad things that y’all don’t know about. A lot of bad things [to where] y’all’s opinion [of him] would change. Now is not the time to speak on stuff like that, in my opinion.”

Bear Brown claimed that the family members always tried to let Matt know that they loved him a lot. However, the efforts never worked, as Bear stated:

“Everybody cared about him and was on his side. Everybody was trying to tell him that everybody cares about him, that everybody loves him. Matt distanced himself from the family completely.”

Bear Brown made a different claim related to his brother’s dead body

As mentioned, Bear Brown said in his first TikTok video that he cannot confirm if Matt Brown is dead. He even referred to some eyewitnesses in the first video, saying that most of them claimed it was Matt who appeared in the river. But he said at the same time that a few of the eyewitnesses thought that it could be Matt. But in the latest TikTok video, Bear claimed with assurance that the man that people saw was Matt Brown. He continued by saying:

“So, I’ve talked to quite a lot of people and stuff. I’ve heard from locals, eyewitnesses, and the coroner. At this time, the body has not been recovered. All eyewitnesses have said that the description fits Matt’s description to a T. So, there’s a really good chance that it is him. I’m still praying that it’s not, by some miracle, that it’s not.”

Bear requested that people in the first video show some respect to their mother, Ami Brown. Bear said that Ami cares a lot for Matt Brown, adding that netizens should not target her at all. Bear claimed that he saw Matt for the last time at Walmart, and they even spoke to each other on the phone. Matt reportedly told his brother on the call that his addiction problems had returned, following which Bear told him to enter a rehab if needed.
