Mary highlighted that everyone must understand that early detection in such cases can make all the difference. Although hearing the word 'cancer' can be scary, she mentioned that catching the disease in its earliest stages can give patients a strong chance to recover. It has also strengthened her belief that it is important to pay attention to warning signs and get medical help without delay.

Apart from her recent diagnosis, Mary also discussed the challenges that she has faced throughout her life. She explained that they have taught her how things can quickly change. At the same time, she believes that people can often find strength within themselves when they face difficulties in life. Therefore, she never allows the challenges to define her life. Instead, she has chosen optimism, determination, and gratitude.

The 70-year-old described that cancer is just another challenge for her and she intends to overcome it like every challenge she has faced in the past. In her words:

"I've walked through some incredibly difficult chapters in my life. I've survived things that I never imagined I would survive. And I have learned that life can change in an instant, but so can our perspective, our strength, and our ability to keep moving forward. And if there's one thing I've learned about myself after everything I've been through, it's this: I am a survivor, and I will survive this, too."
