Marissa, 45, is a former EVP at Kleinfeld Bridal and now runs her consulting firm and barre3 studios. Edward, 32, from the Dominican Republic, worked as a resort entertainer and hotel concierge before moving to the US on a K-1 visa.

Marissa Rubinetti first met Edward Miguel Gomez around 2021 while on a girls' trip to Punta Cana, fresh off her divorce from ex-husband Michael Sanders. Marissa once said that Edward was working at the hotel karaoke bar where she was staying. They made eye contact, following which Marissa got up to sing Walk Like an Egyptian, and they exchanged numbers.
Marissa stressed that nothing happened on that trip; they saw each other a few times around the resort and felt something brewing. But after she returned to Pennsylvania, they lost touch within a few months. Marissa never forgot him, though. She said Edward was the first man after her tumultuous marriage who made her feel like a woman again, special and beautiful.
About three years later, while planning another girls' trip to Punta Cana in late 2023 or early 2024, she wondered if he was still there and texted him. Edward had lost her number and was trying to track her down. That text led to their first official date back in Punta Cana. "That's when we had our first kiss, and that's when the electricity exploded," she recalled.
They knew there was something strong. For a month, they spoke to each other on FaceTime. Marissa then flew back again to see Edward as a real couple. They had a long-distance relationship for about two years. Marissa, who had vowed never to marry again after a marriage she described as "walking on eggshells," didn't want a K-1 at first. The couple applied for a tourist visa so Edward could get a feel for her life in Blue Bell and New York.
When that was denied in early 2025, they faced a choice, which was to either break up or commit. They chose the K-1 visa, got engaged in early 2025, and found 90 Day Fiancé through a Facebook group for K-1 applicants. Edward arrived in the US for Season 12 filming, dealing with strict house rules, culture and language barriers, pushback from Marissa's ex over their two sons, Cole and Derek, disagreement over having more kids, and even getting an adult circumcision before moving.

Speaking in an interview with PEOPLE, the couple described the day as a dream come true and one of the most meaningful of their lives. Marissa said the wedding marked the end of a long and at times difficult journey, noting that they spent years long-distance before working to build a future together in the U.S. She said marriage to them means choosing each other daily through all seasons.
The pair exchanged personal vows and included a Dominican lasso ceremony, where their mothers placed a lasso around them to symbolize their eternal bond and the joining of two families. Marissa said it was a way to honor Edward's culture, and they added other Dominican touches like custom chocolates wrapped in the flag's colors.
Unlike her first wedding with over 200 guests, Marissa wanted this one to feel intimate and authentic. They invited only 55 people, including her two sons from her previous marriage, to focus on quality time. They planned the wedding after Edward's arrival, prioritizing big elements like food with varied options for everyone.
For dessert, they served a three-tier gold-accented cake with vanilla buttercream and strawberry buttercream tiers. Marissa, a longtime Kleinfeld Bridal executive, wore a Pnina Tornai gown she described as sexy yet tasteful, with a corset bodice, sparkle, and figure-flattering details. Instead of a veil, she wore a choker with long flowing extensions for a dramatic effect. Edward wore a classic black tux with a white rose boutonniere.
Marissa said that she admires Edward for his positivity, patience, and support, and that they value simple everyday moments together, including dinners, time with the kids, and running errands. She added that Edward is now exploring opportunities in baseball while building his life in the U.S. as she starts her own business, and said open communication has been key to navigating challenges as a team.
