For the unversed, reports claimed that Maria passed away during bungee jumping, as the crew forgot to attach the rope as Maria attempted to jump.

The incident has since been discussed on social media. Which meant to be the best phase of her life, ended up turning out to be a heartbreaking episode after Maria passed away. It was rumoured that Maria was engaged, and her fiancé was left shattered with her passing. Now, Maria's alleged cousin came forward and revealed the truth.

On IG, someone named Juan Rodrigues and Kaua released a video, following the tragic incident of Maria's passing. In the clip, the duo shared that they are Maria's brothers, Juan being her real brother and Kaua being her cousin. Kaua, in the same video, shared that Maria's passing has turned into the headlines, and it is unacceptable to her family and friends. However, they had to come forward to share some truth about Maria. In the same video, Kauna, the alleged cousin of Maria, revealed that while speculations have been rife that she was engaged, it was a lie.

According to Maria's alleged brothers, she was never engaged or married. On the other hand, Juan revealed that as he spoke out, people have claimed that he was not her real brother and even that there have been people who have impersonated Maria's parents, claiming to be their child. Kaua further clarified that there have been some fake statements as well from some people, who falsely claimed to Maria's mother. Kaua and Juan slammed such individuals who have been trying for their social media gains when a family is navigating the heartbreak of losing someone close, due to an utterly tragic incident.

The duo further clarified that Maria was not anybody's 'fiancee' and she had her whole life before her. Her brothers mourned and shared that Maria was a brilliant and incredible human being, and they all grew up together. Speaking about the lies being spread about Maria, her cousin shared that it's simply hurtful and carries a lot of weight, given the situation the family is in, especially for their grandparents, who raised Maria. Juan and Kaua asked people to stop spreading lies and speculations around Maria, mainly at this time when she's no longer in the world and when her family is already trying to make sense of what actually happened. According to them, the entire family is devastated and not doing well.

Maria Eduarda Rodrigues used to live in Jandira in the São Paulo metropolitan region and was gaining attention on social media. She reportedly had studied Physical Education and Sports Management and worked at a gym. Maria would share glimpses of her life on social media. It was hours before the tragic incident took her life, she posted some glimpses from the place where people were taking part in bungee jumping. Reports claimed that Maria fell nearly 40 meters from a bridge during a rope jumping activity, which happened as the crew didn't attach a safety cord, and she was launched from the platform in haste, after she took part in the sport, and it claimed her life.
