Manoj Bajpayee is one the finest actors of his generation in Bollywood. A recipient of numerous prestigious awards and accolades, the actor has created a name for himself by being a part of some of the most unconventional yet highly appreciated films. Movies like Satya, Pinjar, Shool, Bandit Queen, Zubeida, Fiza among many others. In his personal life, Manoj is married to former actress, Shabana Raza and the duo is parents to their daughter, Ava.
In an interaction with Zoom, Manoj Bajpayee opened up about the inspiration he seeks for essaying unconventional yet strong characters on-screen. The actor credited it to his mother, Geeta Devi, who was by all means an alpha-male herself. Recalling a significant anecdote about her, the actor revealed:
“My mother was the alpha female. Even in her last days, she was so independent. She hated to be dependent on anyone. She was asking my sister to give her poison so that she could die because she hated the fact that she was dependent on her children. So, I am from that family. I am brought up with that conditioning.”

Back on December 12, 2022, Manoj Bajpayee took to his IG handle and shared a heartfelt message for his late mother, Geeta Devi. He fondly remembered her as an iron lady and mentioned how his mother made numerous sacrifices for her six children and their father. He further said:
"That’s what I call her! A Mother of six children and wife to the most gentleman farmer! She protected her family from all the evil eyes and intentions of this unforgiving world and supported her husband in fulfilling every child’s needs while sacrificing her own dreams. She was an alpha woman who ruled her world with an unflinching eye! wish I could go back in time to see my mother grow into the amazing strong-headed individual that she was!"
Previously, in an interview with Lallantop, Manoj Bajpayee talked about his wife and former actress, Shabana Raza’s reactions to his embarrassing films. He mentioned that his wife is always upset and blames as to why he doesn’t share the scripts with her before accepting the offer, thereby doing a film which she hates. He mentioned:
“Shabana has the complaint that I don’t share scripts with her. Because I like giving surprises to Shabana. I wait for the reaction and emotions that follow after surprising her. The biggest compliments and criticism I get are by Shabana. So whatever she feels after seeing the film should be first. So only I don’t share scripts and she complains a lot about it. There have been fights about the same.”

In contrast to the rock-solid and slightly rude characters that he essays on-screen, Manoj Bajpayee is also known to be a man of wit and fun-loving nature. Proof of the same was found in one of his previous interviews with Hindustan Times, where he was asked to react on the reports of him having a net worth of Rs. 170 crores. In contrast, the actor mentioned that with kind of work he does as an actor, such kind of money is impossible to earn. Moreover, Manoj wittily added that he wishes his producers, after hearing such reports, increase his fees.
