Amid all these, Malaika reportedly unfollowed Arjun's family members, which added fuel to the fire. A screengrab of Malaika's post, which consisted of a quote about being strong, was shared on a Reddit thread. The user also pointed out how Malaika unfollowed Arjun's sisters, Janhvi Kapoor, Anshula Kapoor, and Khushi Kapoor. The caption of the Reddit user can be read as:
"Malaika insta story, she unfollowed janhvi, khushi, anshula and boney. Still follows Arjun. Doesn’t follow Khusha. Looks like a family disapproval."

As soon as the screenshot was shared on the discussion platform, Reddit, netizens started bombarding the comment sections with their opinions. Reacting to the photo, a few users shared that Malaika never used to follow Janhvi Kapoor, while others mentioned that Arjun's sister, Anshual was there in Malaika's following list, whom she very recently unfollowed.
A comment about the same can be read as "She unfollowed Anshula .. so that is deffo confirmation enough! Anshula Never had regard for Malla she even stopped Arjun from getting an apartment in Malla's building. Malla was never following Boney. Has she unfollowed Sonam and Rhea?" As a reply to the comment, one user wrote, "Anshula, Rhea, Sonam still follow Malaika but Malaika follows Sonam and Rhea only. Anshula and Malaika used to wish each other on b'days before. Then some issue between Anshula and Malaika, I guess is the reason and it's definitely a big enough reason for Arjun." Some netizens even pointed out that Malaika was earlier following Kusha Kapila, whom she unfollowed too.

On August 17, 2023, Arjun Kapoor took to his IG handle and dropped a cryptic post, which sparked his breakup rumours with Malaika. The post featured the actor enjoying his heart out on a solo trip. However, it left the netizens confused as Arjun's solo vacation, who often used to post mushy pictures with his ladylove, was not much-acceptable for the netizens.
Amid Arjun and Malaika's breakup rumours were going on, a certain section of netizens started claiming that the actor started dating famous influencer, Kusha Kapila. However, all such speculation was cleared off by Kusha as she reacted to the same on her broadcast channel on Instagram.
