Much like her, it is her daughter, Esha, who has followed in her footsteps and made a name for herself in the film industry. On the other hand, Hema’s secondborn daughter, Ahana has imbibed her talents in the craft of classical Bharatnatyam dance, and has established herself with her prowess in the same.
Taking to her IG handle on August 25, 2023, Hema Malini dropped a beautiful picture of her daughter, Esha Deol, clad in an exquisite blue-hued saree. She teamed it with a matching blue blouse and kept her tresses open. However, what caught everyone’s attention was the special caption, which the yesteryear actress penned along with it. Well, Hema congratulated her daughter, Esha, since her first produced film, Ek Duaa got a special mention at the 69th National Film Awards 2023. She wrote:
“It was a proud moment for my darling Esha - her first film as a producer, 'Ek Duaa' got a special mention at the 69th National Awards in the category of Non-Feature Films. A feather in her cap indeed! Congrats to my baby!”

In a previous interview with Bollywood Bubble, Esha Deol opened up on the kind of bonding she has always shared with her mother, Hema Malini. The diva highlighted an unheard anecdote from her life to elaborate more. Esha mentioned how, during the shooting of one of her films, her co-star fell in love with her, and proposed to her for marriage. However, the person levied one condition for them to be together, and that was for Esha to leave her acting career. Mentioning how her mom, Hema Malini reacted to it all, she mentioned:
“I had just started out and he said ‘Will get married, stop acting’. I did not know what to do. I came home and told my mom and she was like so sweet.”
Despite being such a phenomenal actress, Hema Malini’s personal life has not been without a fair share of trials and tribulations. For the unversed, Hema got married to the love of her life, Dharmendra, while the latter was still married to his first wife, Prakash Kaur. Reportedly, the duo had eloped together and converted to a different faith in order to tie the knot. Fast forward to today, Dharmendra shares a beautiful bond with both his families. In one of her earlier interviews with Lehren Retro, Hema shared how despite having a distant household from her husband, Dharmendra has always been worried about their daughters, Esha and Ahana to be married off well in their lives.

In one of her old interviews with The Times Of India, Esha Deol once spoke about the parenting style she adopted for her daughters, Radhya and Miraya. She called herself the ‘panda parent’. Moreover, she emphasised that as compared to her own mother, Hema Malini’s parenting style, which was mostly chill, she happens to be far more possessive and stricter.
