Ever since Arjun Kapoor and Malaika Arora were spotted at an event together in 2018, the hearsay around their alleged relationship had gained momentum. After taking their own fair share of time, Arjun and Malaika finally made their relationship official on the former’s birthday. There has been no looking back for the much-in-love couple since then and their fans have been eagerly looking forward to seeing them as bride and groom. While we would have to wait a little longer for that to happen, here’s a little recap of how Arjun Kapoor and Malaika Arora made their relationship Insta-official. It was on June 26, 2019, i.e., Arjun’s birthday when pop-ups from Arjun and Malaika’s respective Instagram handles, which could be read as "Happy bday my crazy, insanely funny n amazing @arjunkapoor love n happiness always" and "She has my heart… (literally)" had put an end to our wait as the lovebirds had finally confirmed their relationship.
Recently, Malaika Arora attended a wedding in Surat and looked stunning in a shimmery lehenga. In a video going viral on social media, we could see the Chaiyya Chaiyya star grooving on her beau, Arjun Kapoor’s song, Tune Maari Entriyaan, which also stars Ranveer Singh and Priyanka Chopra Jonas. Malaika’s dance number was followed by her anchoring as she then called the bride and groom on the stage to take the function further. Here’s the video:
At the Filmfare Glamour and Style Awards, Malaika Arora had won the Diva of the Year award and while she was on-stage, a collage of her beau, Arjun Kapoor’s pictures was projected on the screen behind her. It was at the special screening of Arjun Kapoor’s film, India’s Most Wanted, when his doting girlfriend, Malaika Arora was spotted cheering for him. Malaika had donned a black and white tank top, which had a deep-cut back with her hair let loose and flared jeans. Arjun, on the other hand, had looked uber cool in a black Gucci t-shirt, which he had teamed with blue jeans and a complementing black cap. It was for the first time ever, Arjun and Malaika posed together as a couple, hand-in-hand, as they smiled for the camera. Apart from this, Malaika was also seen bonding with Arjun’s sisters, Anshula Kapoor and Jahnvi Kapoor. In an interview with the Filmfare, Arjun Kapoor had gotten candid about coming out in open for his relationship with Malaika Arora and how his family has been supportive of his choices. Speaking about how happy his family is with his relationship with Malaika, Arjun had stated, “They are happy. That's the reason I have been able to come out. There is genuine happiness for me. I have been through hell. I have been through a roller-coaster... from the age of 10-11 till 33 today. My parents separated when I was around 11 years old. Today I have some stability in my life and if someone gives me happiness, my family won't be against it. I am genuinely happy. That is why a Friday at the box-office doesn't decide my life. Three years back, I had have been like, I am dying! What's gonna happen? Today, I am relaxed.”
Revealing what made him come out in the open about his relationship with Malaika Arora, Arjun Kapoor had said, “We've come out because we feel the media has given us dignity. There's a certain understanding the media has... they've been respectful, kind, honest and decent about it. That is why I felt comfortable. You recoil when there's a certain "gandhagi" that comes with the territory. When purposely people irk you by saying, writing or asking things... there hasn't been any of that. Where the paps are concerned, we give them photos when walking in and out of a place. It is normal. We talk to them. There's a certain ease. I told them don't sit under the house just because it looks like we're hiding, when we're not. Let it be natural. Let it be normal. I don't want my neighbours being disturbed, I don't want her neighbours being disturbed. We're not doing anything wrong. I don't want that story being conveyed that we're still hiding, when we're not. They understood that.”
Putting an end to his marriage speculations with Malaika Arora, Arjun Kapoor had remarked, “I'm not getting married. I understand why there are speculations. Because in my own house people would ask tu shaadi kab kar raha hai? It's a very organic Indian question. If you're with someone for even three days, the marriage question pops up. Shaadi karlo, tumhari umar ho gayi hai, abhi kitna sochoge? 33 for most people in India is great age to get married, but not for me. I still have time.
