There is nothing as powerful as being a mother. But your responsibility doubles and your love gets infinite when you become a mother of a pooch. While for many a dog is just a 'dog', for a mother they are the 'forever fur babies'. With wet noses, sloppy kisses and wagging tail they make a huge place in our heart. And that's exactly what B-town diva, Malaika Arora feels for her doggo, whom she has lovingly named 'Casper'. In fact, choosing between her son and her dog is the hardest decision of her life. Malaika Arora, the model-turned-Vj has been ruling the style charts for almost two decades. She has been beating her 40s with an ace and no one can believe she is a mother to a 17-year-old boy, Arhaan Khan. Malaika, who was earlier married to Bollywood actor, Arbaaz Khan had made it to the headlines when she had filed for a divorce after 18-years of marriage. But she made sure that her personal life never affected her son, Arhaan's relationship with his father, Arbaaz.
Recently, Malaika appeared on Neha Dhupia's show, No Filter Neha, wherein she revealed the dilemma she gets into when her son, Arhaan asks whether she loves him or her dog, Casper. She said, "I guess if you’re an animal person, I mean any-- a dog person, a cat person or you know whatever--I think they just become family and for me Casper is. In fact, my son always says that he says you love him more than me, always says. He keeps asking me, ‘Mumma you love Casper or me?’ I say I have two boys and its both of you and I love you both equally. He keeps saying that ‘Mom, can you not be diplomatic and choose me and say no. You’re my number 1.’ I’m like I can’t say that. Arhaan is everything but my Casper is also my everything. The kind of unconditional love that. I can’t believe we’re sitting and talking about my pet here but yeah it’s just unconditional love."
On the same show, Malaika had also revealed that she was one of the first actresses in the B-town, who worked during her pregnancy and after her pregnancy. However, no one ever talked about it as there was no platform back then. On the same show, she had shared that she doesn't pay any heed to social media trollers and people who say nasty thing sitting behind screens. In an interview with the Bombay Times, Malaika had also talked about her son, and how being in a relationship (with Arjun Kapoor) doesn't make her a bad mother. She had shared, "Arbaaz and I have moved on, amicably. We have to be sensitive to our child (Arhaan) and his needs. When we parted ways, I felt vulnerable, though I am not a vulnerable person. I didn't know which direction I wanted to move into. I was just sure that I have to give my child a stable environment, and to date, it has been my number one priority. Gradually, one thing led to another and now, things are how you see them today. I have to give my son a lot of credit for that."
Talking about her relationship, Malaika had also stated that it doesn't make her any less of a mother, and had said, "Having a relationship doesn't change anything for me as a parent. I'm still my son's concierge service for everything like every mother is. How am I any less of a mother then? In fact, as a single parent, you tend to overcompensate to ensure the kid doesn't feel an absence in his life. Arbaaz and I have parted as a couple, but we make sure nothing affects our son. It's a lot better this way. For the rest, time is the best healer." (Don't Miss: Saif Ali Khan Opens Up About How He Bought Back Pataudi Palace, His Royalty And Inheritance)
