The charming Mahima Chaudhry had made a permanent place in everyone’s heart with her debut film, Pardes. With her role of ‘Ganga’, Mahima had become everyone’s Mehbooba overnight. Her on-screen presence, dialogue delivery, and effortless acting had won the hearts of critics and fans. Unfortunately, the actress is going through a rough period in her personal life as she is battling breast cancer.
For the unversed, Mahima had gotten married to a Kolkata-based architect, Bobby Mukherjee on March 19, 2006. In 2007, Mahima had embraced motherhood and had given birth to a baby girl and had named her Aryana. However, after some years of their marriage, the couple had started facing troubles in their marital life, resulting in a divorce.

On June 9, 2022, Mahima Chaudhry took to her IG handle and reposted a video of her shared by actor, Anupam Kher. In the video, Mahima reveals the news of being diagnosed with breast cancer. The actress also revealed that she was getting treated for the same in the USA. The video begins with Mahima talking about confiding in Anupam about her cancer as he called her up to offer a movie. She also broke down into tears while talking about her diagnosis and losing her. Calling Mahima a hero, Anupam captioned the video as:
“Story of Mahima Chaudhry's courage and cancer. I called Mahima Chaudhry a month back from US to play a very important role in my 525th film The Signature. Our conversation turned to her discovering that she has breast cancer. What followed is in this candid conversation between us. Her attitude will give hope to so many women all over the world. She wanted me to be part of her disclosing about it. She calls me an eternal optimist but dearest Mahima! “You are my HERO!””
Lauding Mahima for her courage, Anupam revealed that Mahima is back on the sets and continued:
“Friends! Send her your love, warmth, wishes, prayers and blessings. She is BACK on sets where she belongs. She is ready to fly. All those producers/directors out there! Here is your opportunity to tap on her brilliance! Jai ho to her!!”

After her debut film, Pardes, Mahima had gone missing from the silver screen for two years. The reason behind that was during the shoot of Ajay Devgn and Kajol's home production, Dil Kya Kare, Mahima had a massive accident where a truck had hit her car. The glass of her car had gone mostly into her face and in the surgery, the doctors had taken out 67 glass pieces. The devastating accident had left a deep mark on Mahima, both physically and mentally.
