Before welcoming their first biological child, Tara Bhanushali in their lives, Mahhi Vij and Jay Bhanushali were already proud parents to two adorable kids, Khushi and Rajveer. Jay and Mahhi had adopted their caretakers’ kids, Khushi and Rajveer in 2017 and had decided to fund the little ones’ education. For some time, Khushi and Rajveer stay at their village with their parents and grandparents, and for a few months, at Jay and Mahhi's home in Mumbai. Jay and Mahhi are always happy to have Khushi and Rajveer at home with them and love spending quality time with their all three kids.

It was on May 24, 2019, when Mahhi Vij and Jay Bhanushali had informed that their family of four will soon be completed with the arrival of their little one. Three months later, Jay and Mahhi had announced the arrival of their baby girl and had embraced parenthood once again. When Tara had turned one, Mahhi, in an IG story, has asked Jay for another baby as their daughter had grown up and doesn’t listen to her. Jay was bombarded with requests from their fans on social media to fulfil Mahhi's demand to have another child. Mahhi Vij hosted an 'Ask Me Anything' session on Instagram to interact with her followers and answered a few questions about Khushi, Rajveer and Tara. One of the followers asked Mahhi if she's pregnant again. To which, the mother of three replied, "Noooooo". Some of her followers also asked her about Khushi and Rajveer, where are they and if she's missing them. When Mahhi was asked about Tara's most favourite word, she replied, "Mumma".
On September 9, 2020, Jay Bhanushali and Mahhi Vij had celebrated their tenth wedding anniversary and in their own unconventional way, the couple had not only posted romantic heartfelt notes for each other on social media but also shared ROFL anniversary posts in their own hilarious ways. Jay and Mahhi had posted anniversary special dance videos on their respective social media handles and while the mister had captioned his post as “10 saal saath rehne ka asar pagal ho rahe hain @mahhivij happy anniversary to us”, the missus had written, “Ise admi ko romantic hona sikha do @ijaybhanushali anniversary mein bhi hero giri too much.” In the video posted by Jay, the lovebirds could be seen dancing with ‘Happy Anniversary’ playing in the background. Mahhi had posted a video, wherein they could be seen dancing on the song, Tere Sang Yaara.

In an interview with the Pinkvilla, Jay Bhanushali had spoken about his decade-long journey with his wife, Mahhi Vij and how Tara has changed their bond for the better. He was quoted as saying, "The journey has been beautiful. It’s been 10 years and I never expected that these 10 years will be this smooth. We had our ups and downs, happiness, but then I am happy that we completed 10 years and received our gift from God in the form of Tara, and now it is a beautiful family. I am loving every moment with them. The bond is different once baby comes into your life. Double figure it is for us!"
Elaborating on the ups and downs in his relationship with Mahhi Vij, Jay Bhanushali had continued, "Of course, ups and downs make you strong. When you have a strong partner like Mahi, it helps you a lot too. There have been times when things don't go your way and you are tired of it but having a strong woman next to me makes it easier where she guides and helps me."
