Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor are one of the most celebrated B-Town couples in the recent years. The duo make it to the headlines every now and then and it seems their fans can seldom leave a moment at rest to know more about their favourite celeb couple. For the unversed, the duo, who began dating in 2018 finally tied the knot in a dreamy affair in 2022. Moreover, within a year, the couple hopped on to the parenthood journey as they welcomed their daughter, Raha in their lives in 2023.
Over the years, Ranbir and Alia have grown quite close to their respective in-laws, and the couple surely believes in celebrating everything together as one big family. Well, Mahesh Bhatt during his stint in the celebrity chat show, Koffee With Karan had used the word, ‘ladies man’ to describe Ranbir Kapoor’s personality in one word.

There are no second thoughts on how brilliant an actor Ranbir Kapoor has been. He has made some immense contributions to the Hindi film industry, and rightfully so, commands a huge fan base. Interestingly, his father-in-law, Mahesh Bhatt is also too fond of his terrific skills and proof of the same was found when he had heaped praises on Ranbir’s stunning filmography. In his words:
“He astounded me in Sanju. After Amitabh Bachchan’s Deewar (1975), this is the first time I’ve seen an actor take charge of a character, which is iconic like Sanjay Dutt. Ranbir is barely 34 or 35 and though he comes from the great lineage of the Kapoor family, he has a unique charm and talent that’s his own. He is an original, just like Alia is an original.”
Apart from being a proud father and a darling father-in-law, Mahesh Bhatt has also become a doting grandfather to his baby girl, Alia’s daughter, Raha Kapoor. The loving nanu had been over-excited ever since Alia Bhatt had announced her pregnancy in June 2022, and fast forward to this day, he is known to be busy pampering Raha utterly. Nevertheless, there was a precious moment even before Raha had been brought into the world, where she had received immense love and praises from her grandfather, Mahesh Bhatt. Responding to Alia’s pregnancy news back in the time, Mahesh Bhatt had revealed how he knew that the child would carry extraordinary genes. He had mentioned:
“This is the most challenging role, which life is asking me to play, which is the role of a grandfather…It is a magical moment for the whole family. First of all, Alia has been a magical child since the beginning. She has amazed me with her extraordinary talent, which has displayed to herself and the world, and then the marriage with Ranbir, was a great, high moment, and I love the boy. He is an amazing kid.”

Time and again, Mahesh Bhatt has openly professed his pride at seeing his baby girl, Alia make a name for herself in Bollywood. Right from making her debut as a teen, Alia has done phenomenally well for herself and has not looked back on the professional side since. Moreover, apart from her fans, it is her parents she has made the most happy and proud, and there was once a moment when her father had spoken about the same. In an interview with Elle magazine, Mahesh Bhatt had mentioned:
“She is not an extension of her parents. She is a fire of her own. Although I was a filmmaker, we always lived on the edge of the industry. Our home was not a hub for film parties. I made films to make a living, and these are the things that have gone into Alia’s consciousness. She works with a ferocity and focus, but she also has deep empathy."
