Ever since the ninth season of the dance reality show, Nach Baliye has commenced, ex-couple, Vishal Aditya Singh and Madhurima Tuli’s irreconcilable differences never fail to make the headlines. More than their stupendous performances on Bekhayali, Agar Tum Saath Ho, Yeh Jism and Tip Tip Barsa Paani, ‘Kabir Singh’ Jodi, Vishal and Madhurima’s fights on-stage had left their fans heartbroken. While ViRima fans were secretly hoping for a reconciliation, it is proving to be a hard-to-achieve dream with each episode. The judges of Nach Baliye 9, Raveena Tandon and Ahmed Khan have been trying to set this ex-couple, Vishal Aditya Singh and Madhurima Tuli on a date, and it finally got fulfilled on August 18, 2019, episode. But while they were hoping for Vishal and Madhurima to sort their issues and differences on their date, things went gloomy when Vishal disrespected Madhurima on-stage. And on the episode that aired on August 25, 2019, Madhurima’s mother, Vijaya Pant Tuli Mountaineer, came with some questions for Vishal.
Madhurima Tuli’s mother, Vijaya Pant Tuli Mountaineer called Vishal Aditya Singh on-stage and asked him, why did he change. To which, Vishal replied, “Main aapke liye abhi bhi waise hi hoon Vijaya. Aapse kuch shiqayat hi nahi hai.” Vijaya ji continued that initially their fights didn’t bother her but when Vishal had compared Madhurima to his mother, that’s what had hurt her the most. She explained him that just like a father has a special place in a daughter’s heart, it is similar for a mother-son relationship. And no, boyfriend/girlfriend can take that place of a father/mother. So, he shouldn’t have said those hurtful things to Madhurima. Being a celebrity, Vishal and Madhurima shouldn’t fight like this on-stage. And Madhurima, who had kept her head down the entire time, couldn’t control her tears and hugged her mother.
On August 20, 2019, Madhurima Tuli had turned a year older and since she was shooting for Nach Baliye 9 on her birthday, her co-contestants had made sure to make it special for her. Posting the cake-cutting video on her Instagram handle, wherein she had smeared cake on her ex, Vishal’s face instead of feeding him a slice, Madhurima had captioned it as “Thank you guys for making my birthday so special. This really means a lot. I always love to work on my birthday. And this was the best amongst all. Thank you @starplus @banijayasia and team #NachBaliye9 you’ll made it so special. Sometime back, a video from the Nach Baliye 9 rehearsals of Vishal Aditya Singh and Madhurima Tuli had gone viral on social media, wherein the latter had slapped the former after an argument. Vishal had clarified the same later, and was quoted as saying, "I don't know who leaked it and why, and I don't even want to know. There is nothing for me to say about it, Jo hai Woh dikh Raha hai video mein. I don't want to add anything to it, because every personal quote/comment added, subtracts my efforts that I am putting in day and night on Dancing. Baat Karne se baat aur aage badegi, and I want the dance to be the focus and not any personal talks. That's why in last 2 weeks I haven't spoken to anyone or given any interview/quote.”
Vishal Aditya Singh had continued, “The personal journey is over, let's just focus on the dance journey which is still on. If just for TRP and headlines you'll want to see us together, then absolutely get us together but speak about dance, our dance journey, the long hours of practice, our efforts that we put in to give our 100% in our performance even after this personal equation, the injuries we have suffered, how even the smallest nakhra or mudra is practiced until perfection, how we are professional and dedicated towards our work. So, it's a simple thing, I don't mind doing an interview with her or anything, but let the focus be dance, uss par bhi bahut Kuch hai baat Karne ke liye."
