Madhuri Dixit is counted among the most talented and versatile actresses in Bollywood. Hailed as the Dhak Dhak girl of B-Town, Madhuri has etched a special place in the hearts of her fans. She is popular for her unparalleled acting chops, exceptional dancing skills, divine beauty, and charming personality. Madhuri made her acting debut with the 1984 film, Abodh. Later, she worked in many movies like Dil, Beta, Hum Aapke Hain Koun, and Dil To Pagal Hai, among others.
In her career spanning four decades, Madhuri Dixit worked with many prominent actors in the 80s and 90s. Among them were Sunny Deol and Jackie Shroff, with whom she delivered powerful performances in the iconic film, Vardi. While the trio's pairing solidified their stardom, the 1989 film, Vardi, led to an unexpected embarrassment for Madhuri. Although Vardi was a hit, there were some scenes of Madhuri in the film on which objections were raised.

With a successful career to her credit, Madhuri Dixit was not satisfied with her role in Vardi. As soon as the film was released at the box office, Madhuri felt very embarrassed. Firstly, the actress had a supporting role, portraying a cancer patient, with reduced screen time. Moreover, she also did multiple bold scenes with Jackie, depicting intimacy between them, which led to further discomfort. Also, there were multiple cuts in the film, leaving Madhuri embarrassed by the final portrayal of her character.
Jackie Shroff earned many titles, such as Sexy Shroff, in his career spanning over 40 years. Though he did many intimate scenes with the leading actresses of his time, he was uncomfortable doing so. In an old interview, Jackie revealed how he was embarrassed to kiss Madhuri Dixit in the film, Vardi. Talking about the same, he said:
“I’ve kissed Madhuri Dixit in Vardi and Juhi Chawla in Aaina, but I felt embarrassed about it. Brandy’s shots helped me kiss other women on screen. I was called Sexy Shroff and considered macho, but I shied away from doing kissing scenes.”

After Vardi, Madhuri Dixit appeared in the film, Ram Lakhan, alongside Jackie Shroff and Anil Kapoor in the lead role. The film was a box office blockbuster and a huge hit among the masses. However, it was the film, Tezaab, which established Madhuri Dixit as a star overnight and solidified her position as an impeccable actress. With so much popularity and back-to-back successful films to her credit, Madhuri always regretted her decision to do bold scenes and appear in a small role in Vardi.
On the personal front, Madhuri Dixit got married to the love of her life, Shriram Nene, on October 17, 1999. The duo is blessed with two sons, Arin Nene and Ryan Nene.
